I was there...worst game ever for me.
Convinced me though afterwards to invest in real rain gear.

Unless the 8PM track and time changes, this game will not be played. Flooding is the issue, not the wind. Places like Fayetteville, Greenville, Lumberton, Whiteville, Kinston, Tarboro, Durham, etc., will flood like the devil on the current track which shows a sharp left hook into central NC. At least a third of State's football fan base lives east of a line from Henderson, Raleigh, Sanford, Pinehurst, Rockingham and that includes all the towns on the Cape Fear, Tar, Lumber, and Neuse Rivers. Folks with beach houses of which there are many will want to inspect their property over attending the game.
No one seems to know how it could be rescheduled unless State and Louisville did not make the ACC championship game and win or loss by either would not affect who plays in that game.

Yes but, if you look at GTS's maps in the other thread, at 2pm on Saturday the hurricane will still be way out in the Ocean. It won't hook into NC and VA until Sunday.

It was 67, IIRC. We had been undefeated and ranked 3rd the week before and 1 and 2 lost that Saturday. We lost at Penn State 6-7 or 7-12 something like that. The next weekend we were at Clemson and lost in the remnants of the Hurricane. Mike O'Cain was Clemson's QB, IIRC.
We played Texas at Texas in the remnants of something back in 99 and beat them 7-0 or so on a blocked punt.
Depending on the path, the game could be cancelled, or rescheduled for 6-8 hours later. That's never happened before at CF, but worries over lightening and EF 0 and EF 1 Tornadoes would be an issue with a land falling hurricane in NC. If it takes Fran's (96) or Hazel's (57) path, at midday, don't expect a game at that time.
No, I looked it up after curiosity got the better of me. It was 99. Hurricane Dennis. The two things I remember was TV showing water running down the aisles and Lou Holtz looking like a wet rat on the sidelines.

Not to be picky but Hazel was Oct. 15th, 1954 not 57. Also, just got some texts from sis-in-law. Brunswick County is getting steady rain this afternoon, (Sunday) with waters rising. ICW docks about underwater, flooding serious business.
