So do C-USA, the Mountain West, the WAC, the MAC, and the Sun Belt. There is no reason why only 6 of the 11 Division 1-A conferences (not to mention Notre Dame) should be getting those huge BCS payouts.

Our bowl record would improve considerably if we ever played in a crappy conference like the BE...
I hope you realize you are attempting to talk trash of a fan of a school that dominated C-USA in 2004. Winning its conference games by an average of over 35 PPG.

I also like the fact you left out TAMU meltdown and Tennessee struggling against a Non BCS UAB team at home.

Well..Since you're in a crappy conference now, it should improve... But then again, it's Rice football, so it'll probably be 4th-6th place finishes in c-usa west

"Eastern Style Football" is french for "Two teams go a combined 1-29 on 3rd down conversions"

It wasn't our recent 8-4 season, and it wasn't either of the recent 7-win seasons. In fact, one of our 7-win teams [edit: had thought this was the 8-win team, but it was not] got punked by a Cincy team who did *not* have 7 wins, but sweetened the deal by offering to send their basketball team out for a game in Boise.

That's right -- bowl bids don't get decided by wins on the field, they get decided by who has a popular BASKETBALL team. So, bowl appearances are a bogus measure as far as Rice is concerned. If it doesn't include us, it doesn't apply to us.

A "championship" decided by votes... pretty costumes (i.e. what conference's patch appears on the uniform) boosting a team's ranking... postseason placement or denial based on popularity and nigh-bribery... is this supposed to be football, or French women's figure skating?

Apparently you didn't read the whole post in which I was comparing the efforts of non-BCS conferences (including the Big East.)

No, I read your whole post, it just is factually wrong.

I read your conference comparison list where you listed the Big East with non-BCS leagues. Whatever works there, its opinion. But then when you are making a list of non-BCS winners, if you put us on it, its just as wrong as listing Troy as playing in the Big 10 or something of that sort...whether you like it or not.
