Campus flooding
All this rain has finally started to cause issues on campus and some flooding.

Now granted the arboretum and Duke Dog Alley under 81 are both low areas on campus. But the part that worries me is they also just tweeted that Godwin Transit area right next to the stadium has now been flooded out. We all remember 2012 when Godwin flooded and it cause the stadium to flood out as well. Let's hope that this doesn't get worse and the stadium doesn't flood.

RE: Campus flooding
Those were posted by The Breeze I don't live up there anymore but I have a friend living off campus saying they just got a Madison Alert email (same ones when crime happens) about the flooding. It sounds like it may get worse because it isn't really supposed to stop raining all week up there.

Apparently BFS is ok now per very good authority. Flooded a bit but then receded. Rain has slowed down here, about 30 miles to the south.

Seems like I heard that when it flooded before that it got to about 3' deep but receded almost as fast as it flooded, which makes little sense.

That's good to hear cause looking at that photo of the field looks to be about 1-2 feet under water on the visitor side (look at dog house) but that means everything under the bleachers, including visitor locker room is done for wouldn't it?

So is there a problem with the brand new Newman Lake draining system? With all the time and money spent on the project I thought it was going to help prevent future flooding.

That is what I thought to when I just posted on the other "Weather" thread.

I'll bet VAD could run the swim option. Any doubt he could shoot torpedoes to receivers?

If you're on campus tonight, tell your friends to be careful - people went out drunk kayaking a few years ago and we lost some kids. Be careful.
