Planned Parenthood Breaks Law Again
Well, not exactly...once again a state investigation found nothing wrong.

Quote:Sept 28 (Reuters) - An investigation in Missouri found no evidence that Planned Parenthood's St. Louis clinic mishandled fetal tissue or engaged in unlawful activity, Attorney General Chris Koster's office said on Monday.
Missouri Attorney General Finds No Evidence Planned Parenthood Mishandled Fetal Tissue

It's really quite interesting how conservatives seem to favor the government shutting something down that's done nothing wrong really (like ACORN) whenever it fits their agenda.

And before you go there, it's a Reuters story just reprinted on Huffpo.

It's just another example of the kind of fake outrage that stirs up the base before an election.

Actually this movement is so blatently stupid that it will end up helping Planned Parenthood.

Obama is basically daring the GOP to shut down Congress over it.

So?

Not to mention that democrats in Missouri aren't exactly the same as those in New York or California.

There is reason this is happening. The issue of remuneration and the vague nature of the Federal statute mean there will be great disagreement. The individual states' partisan interpretations of that statue are not determinate or useful in any context.

Witnesses to what?

Here's the official report. You'll also notice that he didn't go about this on his own, he was asked by the general assembly to undertake it.

Yes, but the main thrust of this is that PP is selling tissue for profit. That can be ascertained with no knowledge of any statute.

Profit isn't the key term here though. It's "valuable remuneration."

RE: Planned Parenthood Breaks Law Again
Missouri is a totally different beast from other states. Including what their citizens will put up with:

Quote:Koster, a Democrat, launched the investigation after an anti-abortion group released videos in July alleging that Planned Parenthood illegally sold fetal tissue in other states.

I'm willing to believe Koster's investigation in this regard... because again there is ONE total Planned Parenthood operation that is authorized to performs abortions in the entire state, it was investigated... (it's only about a 10 minute drive from my home), so I'd see them being sure not to do anything to bring further fire and brimstone down on them, as has happened in the past.. (I _believe_ there were at one point 5 PP clinics in St. Louis prior to this report )

So they've been under a microscope as far back as 2013, so the remaining clinic has definitely been careful about making sure not to break nay more rules). But to criticize the investigation because it came back clean? Bad pool

Quote:In addition, Operation Rescue obtained a Missouri Department of Health inspection report from a survey conducted in January, 2013, that revealed 44 pages of safety deficiencies, including:

• Violations of infection prevention protocols.

• Rusty surgical tables, suction abortion machines, IV stands, and other equipment.

• “Copious amounts of dust” in surgical rooms and on equipment.

• Hiring individuals without performing a mandated search of the Employee Disqualification List.

• Retained left-over drugs that were supposed to be destroyed after a single use.

• Lack of appropriate drug-handling policies.

• Expired drugs.

• Expired postpartum balloons used to reduce hemorrhage after abortion

So?

The best way to defeat an 'enemy' is to define them. This is straight out of the leftists playbook, to stir up the controversy that most of the right really wasn't all that upset about in order to paint the entire right by the few whackos they stirred up, plus those who defend their right to be whackos and those who disagree with the minutia, but understand the concerns.

It's the whole 'war on women' lie all over again.

What? This position is ludicrous given the fact Republican lawmakers were tripping over themselves to initiate investigations and withhold funding for PP. While I do agree that there are plenty of Republicans that simply don't care about this issue and agree it's a non-story, you can't say this is some fabricated controversy when it's the actual lawmakers who are acting out over it.

In this case, this was a Democrat who acted out over it, not a Republican.

Let me see if I can say this in a few words...
If I wanted to stir up 'the fringe left', I'd post some pictures of a bird covered in oil. Of course the whackos would come out all aghast, but so too would some 'normal' leftists concerned about the 'power of big oil'.... Some on the left would 'trip all over themselves' to investigate the power of big oil and/or pandering to their whacko fringe investigating the oily birds., and if they didn't, I would start one... and then reach the conclusion that big oil wasn't really killing the birds like the whacko's claim they are... ignoring the 'REAL' issue of the power of big oil... and dismissing the 'normal' leftists concerns because I disproved the whackos

It ain't rocket science, nor is it right... but it happens every day all day
