This takes something away from senior day for the Bearcats but at the same it makes UC's road to conference championship and the NCAA tournament a bit easier.

Temple is going to have to lose 3 conference games for us to get to the champ game.

He was talking basketball. But I do want to point out that this is entirely possible and not necessarily true. Hypothetically if UC wins out, a 3 way tie atop to East would be good enough as well. (Say Temple and ECU both only have 2 conference losses).

No, because they keep finding more violations. Recently found cheating with Mens Soccer and Womens bball. NCAA had to send them more notices of violations. They are facing 5 top level violations for multiple sports.

Football program was punished in 2012.

It takes a lot of time to come up with an excuse for the slap on the wrist UNC will probably get.

Thanks...my bad. I'm not even thinking basketball yet (or even reading it apparently!).

Coach Sgt. Schultz at it again. Someone remember to order the gold watch for the rushed retirement party that is being planned for right after the appeal.

Losing 3 scholies a year for 3 years is huge. They might be good this year but the fall could be precipitous.

That's what I'm fully expecting to happen. And the longer they let it drag out the less people/media will talk and care about it.

Carolina is probably the favorite to win the Championship this year. No way they rule on it until after that. Then Williams will be suspended a few games and that will be that.

Pardon me if I am not surprised or shocked. Larry Brown and NCAA rules violation go together like Calipari and rules violations.

They are a golden goose, but I do think they will hit them really hard to make an example as this goes against the supposed core of the NCAA. If they don't they will be crucified by the media and fans. This scandal is way too big to let slip. If they don't come down hard, I could see lawsuits brought against them by other schools that got hit hard for much less. There is too much evidence and such a long history of wrong doing to not get crushed. Honestly they should get the death penalty, but they won't go quite that far. But lots of scholarships lost and years without post-season, etc.

But they are going to lollygag on it so to take advantage of the money they bring in and when they finally do, they will say it took so long because of how far they had to dig.

SMU hiring Larry Brown was like a recovering smack addict dating a dealer.

Keep in mind that UNC will still be under the old, less stringent punishment guidelines since that is when the infractions took place and the investigation began. Syracuse was, too. The NCAA specifically noted that in its press release when they hit Cuse last year. To my knowledge, SMU is the first school to get hit with the stronger penalties. The infractions and the investigation all took place after the new rules guidelines for punishments were adopted.
