CMU Predictions - MAC Title Defense Begins
Almost three days after the BC loss. Time to stop dwelling on what could have been and time to start looking forward to CMU. OOC is over and NIU is still the king of the MAC until someone takes them out.

I think the offense rebounds and pulls out a tough 31 - 24 win.

The game will feature numerous false starts and bad snaps from center, a blocked punt and missed chip shot field goal, and Hare running for his life. Wait, that happened last game, my bad.

CMU isn't OSU or BC. Oline plays better and playmakers too. D keeps playing well and puts offense in great field position.

NIU - 38
CMU - 17

And I am perfect on predictions this year. This is my 1st one.

There will be a big difference in how the oline plays and Hare is back to his normal efficient self. Defense stays strong.

**** It

NIU - 35
CMU - 17

Maybe all the points will come from defense & Duece KO returns. Maybe our offense will learn how to play again. Maybe I'll be completely wrong and depressed for the rest of the season.

RE: CMU Predictions - MAC Title Defense Begins
CMU has looked better than I expected them to be, but I don't think they are better than the Huskies. I know some people have completely lost their minds and expect the Huskies to lose big, but that just doesn't add up. Hare will have more time to throw, the run game will be more effective, and the guys on the other team's defense won't be some of the best in the country. Mt. Pleasant has been everything but pleasant for the Huskies, so I don't expect the Chips to go down easy. Revenge will be the x-factor.

CMU- 20

Huskies find it's easier to gain yards vs CMU. They will also have a revenge motive.

RE: CMU Predictions - MAC Title Defense Begins
This is a real tough one. CMU can't run at all, and have yet to get 100 yards rushing in a game. What killed us last year was Rawls, and their attack was balanced. Not the case this year, though the passing game has been somewhat successful against some decent competition. I think their defense is above average by MAC standards, but after facing two nasty defenses I am hoping the game is going to slow down for Northern.

CMU 17 NIU 7 at the half
CMU 20 NIU 28 Final

Plus I can get revenge on my office mate who has been putting Fire up Chips stickers on all my stuff over the past year.

Not sure its been mentioned elsewhere, but that was Rawls (a UDFA) running all over the place Sunday for the Seahawks against the Bears.

No surprise. These days, old #72, William "Refrigerator" Perry could run all over the place against the Bears.

He was really stealing yards out there.

He was really stealing yards out there.

Every time he was tackled it looked like he wanted to fight someone. I am not sure if was pure grit and determination to make an impression of whether it was pure roid rage.

Current FBS rushing ranks:

20: UNLV
25: Ohio State
26: BC (Hilliman broken foot though, likely drop)

CMU's offense is much much much better than BC, and CMU has a lethal QB, that can pull plays out of his rear as good as anyone in the country.
