Nippert Stadium Visit
I will be visiting Nippert on Thursday to do a review for my site.

Really excited to see the new renovations. This will be my first visit to Nippert despite living in Cincy for a good portion of my life. Should be a great atmosphere with Miami coming to town!

What is the best place near campus to grab a bite to eat near campus?

What are some of the points to see on Campus?

Some of your guys favorite things about the stadium?

Thanks in advance!

If you want to follow my travel at Nippert I will be very active on Twitter. @arenafanatic

One nice thing about UC is how compact it is... You could give yourself about 20 minutes before you go in the stadium to walk through all of campus, and I would highly suggest that you do as UC is one of the premier urban campuses in the country.

I tailgate most games, but my 2 spots are adriaticos http://adriaticosuc.com/
and Martino's on Vine http://www.martinosonvine.com/

I am sure there are others that I have forgotten about. Oh, Mio's pizza has a new location up there and they are good. Great stuffed pizza.

Definitely Adriatico's. It's my favorite pizza in Cincinnati by far.

As far as what to see on campus the university has gained considerable notoriety for hiring star architects to design a plethora of new buildings: Graves, Eisenman, Maynes, Cobb, Gehry, etc. The NewYork Times just did an article about it. Forbes and Travel and Leisure named UC's campus one of the nation's most beautiful. One of my favorites is inside the Lindner Center behind the east side of Nippert.

Nippert sits in the middle of all of it so it will be hard to miss.

Avoid Martino's on Thursday. The Steelers game is on Thurs, and it's usually filled with quite a few Pittsburgh fans.

I mean, you can go there - but I don't think it'll have the same atmosphere as a normal UC gameday.

Though behind Martinos there will be a number of tailgates you can probably crash.

You need to visit the new Club seats. Free gourmet food, great views, no wait toilets and only $2,500 a seat a year.

On campus:
-Check out our rec center which is voted #1 nationally
http://magazine.uc.edu/issues/0714/rec_center.html
- Nippert Stadium itself is a spectacle on campus. It is centrally located in the heart of campus. When there are no games or practices, it is not unusual to see students playing Frisbee or football on the turf.

Good Eats off campus:
- I will agree with others in saying Adriatico's is the best pizza in Cincinnati. Be sure to get the thick crust and be prepared to wait a little while for the pizza.
http://www.adriaticospizza.com/
- If pizza is not your thing you might want to try Chicago Pizza & Dogs. They have great gyros, hotdogs and burgers.
http://www.chicagogyrosanddogs.com/
- If you want to try something unique and you like BBQ, you might want to hit up Alabama Que. The guy who owns this is a former UC football player. They serve up BBQ Turkey Tips (yes I said Turkey). If you don't want turkey they serve up ribs and other BBQ fare.
- If you want to play it safe any number of chain restaurants are available at the U-Square @ The Loop.

Has anyone ever been to Island Frydays? (http://www.islandfrydays.com/) Also owned by a former UC football player and was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I've been meaning to check it out but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Had no idea that place existed, that Morgan opened it, or that he was Jamaican. I like Plantains, mofungo style, mofungoloco.

Also off of short vine, http://www.alabama-q.com/#!about-us/c1542

It a great. Interesting low tech ambiance - food is outstanding. We have been going on game days since he opened.

Thanks for all the responses!

Sounds like the campus will be a nice one to walk. Which I really enjoy doing/writing about.

I'm a big pizza guy and haven't tried either of the main two you guys have brought up so I'm sure I'll give one of the two a try.

The pizza is better at Adriatico's, but I like to drink at Mac's.

Dewey's is nearby in the Gaslight, which is always good - but not as good as Adriatico's. Plus Dewey's is now a chain so it's no longer unique to Cincinnati.

One more thing... this renovation to Nippert was MAJOR. New concessions, bathrooms, etc.

With that came some bugs that they are slowly working out. Be gentle on us if our concessions are a little slow or the lines a little long for the restrooms. People are still trying to figure out where everything is and the concessions folks are still getting used to their new facilities.

Also, our sound system sucks and the scoreboard is mediocre at best. Both are getting replaced next year.
