Just can't beat out Mullens....and you can obviously see why with his stats this year.

Keepin' that bench warm! Mullens has carved out both Mississippi State's defense (went 30-44, 311 yds passing) and Nebraska's defense (went 26-41, 447 yds) <<<<career best for Mullens.....I can only imagine what he'll be able to do to our conference mates.

Doing really well from all reports. But how you gonna take the job from a two year starter playing that well?

FWIW, I believe Stockstill is #1 among freshmen.

I knew Mullens would be good. That was a particularly difficult feeling when he flipped from UAB to USM. Turned out to be best for him.

Some people are calling for Mullens to be benched.

No really.

This still blows my mind. Don't get me wrong, he has his moments where he has no pocket awareness and completely underthrows the receiver (not to mention stares down his main target); however, he has been a proven leader on this team on the field and in the locker room.

At this point, I feel like a lot of our fanbase is frustrated and apathetic because of the previous three years and is just looking for something to complain about- even if there is evidence of much improvement this year.

For a real QB controversy - see FAU.

All true.

We certainly didn't lose to State or Nebraska due to Mullens.

He's pretty good considering his mediocre physical abilities. Physically he's an FCS QB, but he's putting up some great numbers this year.

That's because as said. ."some people" are idiots. Thankfully, Coach Monk isn't one of them.

does he have 2 years to play or 3 years to play? Mullen is only Jr, correct? that means the TCU transfer may not see the field.

NOBODY wants Mullens benched. NOBODY.
Many want Matthews included in the gameplan.

HUGE difference.
But not nearly as much drama, huh?
