You know..it really shows how the perception of power has shifted in Alabama that the 2.2 year old team is being chased by the long time team. And the 2.2 year old team has 5 returning starters and a ton of injuries. After 2.2 years of FBS football, the team with the most to lose by losing is....South Alabama.
Circle the Jags as your big rival...hand out t shirts...etc. I'm like 'meh'. Business trip. Just get the W and go home.
Want us to see you as a rival... Win some OOC FBS games please. You haven't beaten anyone but UAB OOC in five years. Make some noise for doing something other than losing to Abilene Christian.
For me, this is a game we need to win because losing to you guys was not expected. We certainly could lose it. But I expect we will win. Without the hysterics.

Wyoming is averaging 400 yards a game. They have trouble finishing drives though and their defense sucks.
That is the mark of an inefficient offense. Which ultimately does more harm than good because when you're down 28-0 with 100 yards of offense, then rip off 300 yards, and turn the ball over twice and you're down 49-10, you still lose.

how many of those 400 yards are against 3rd team defenses?
Their losses have been be by 11, 19, 17 & 10 and it's not like they made the score look good in the 4th quarter. So probably 90-95% of those yards are against 1's and 2's.

Didn't Troy beat Navy a few years ago? Anywho, sounds like a lot of whining in this post.

I stand corrected. They did beat 1 team other than UAB OOC in the last 5 years. Congrat-u-lations.

Tom doesn't understand football, or why a program that starts from scratch in the modern era can quickly catch up to a program that's been around for a hundred years. He also doesn't understand scheduling, or facts. He's a typical guy you'd expect to see posting on YouTube or in the comments section of al.com. Nothing to see here.

They are gaining most of their yards after their opponents have let off the gas, IMO.
vs. ND - Down 21-0 in the 4th.
vs. E. Mich - Down 38-7 near halftime.
vs. New Mexico - 28-7 near halftime.
Looks like they start off REALLY slow, the exception being Washington State.

RE: Week 5: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
There are lots of reasons for Troy's decline.
Any new FBS program is a viable threat to Troy. Georgia State and South Alabama became programs, Georgia Southern became FBS, UAB and USM began to climb in the rankings, JSU became a consistent playoff team, our legendary head coach began his Bobby Bowden years and didn't have the young enthusiasm many coaches in the league had, and facilities that were tops in league before and during our run were being outclassed by new members in an everlasting arms race.
The hiring of the triumvirate of Hudspeth, Freeze, and Taggart was the final and strongest blow to the Trojan Dynasty. Now the wall is being rebuilt, but it will take time, and will be harder than ever. This is not yesteryear's Sun Belt.
South Alabama fans are not the first to toss out the youthful program card when they beat somebody. We heard it from FAU, FIU, and will likely hear it from Georgia State within the next ten years. Not everyone had the luxury of riding the fast track to fbs program that is based solely on market.

Uh, Eastern Michigan got beat by ODU. Eastern Michigan beat Wyoming easily. Using transitive properties, App should take Wyoming by 72 points.

Wyoming is ranked 128 (dead last) in the composite rankings. They are the worst team in the country.

Their offense sounds like ours in the 2011-2013 years. We could move the ball down the field by throwing until we got in the red zone. Once we got there we had no running game and ended up with a lot of FG's, turnovers, or short punts.
