RE: ULM - Georgia Southern
This game has me worried. Remember last year we were trailing these guys going to the 4th quarter at home. We had a hard time moving the ball against them. Plus it is their homecoming and comes after we return from the other side of the world in Moscow Idaho.

My only prediction is it will be close.

I'm worried about this game too, I'm worried about all the Sun Belt games this year. We have the biggest freaking target on our back...

But I can't really base my prediction of this game on what happened at last year's game. Completely different situations, different time of year, etc. So many factors have changed.

Their defense is stout. It's going to give us trouble. In their game against Georgia where UGA kept it primarily on the ground (73% rushing) they were at 6.4 yards per rush. Alabama spread their game out (52% rushing) and was held to 3.9 yards rushing.

Our current running average yard per rush average is 6.8. But I think it may take us rushing about 70% of the time, and running their defense out of gas. Not letting them get time to catch their breath. That will probably be the key.

RE: ULM - Georgia Southern
Things to note from last years game:

-Ellison came into the game with shoulder issues (it seemed obvious, but I don't think anything was official)
-Ellison went down with an injury mid game
-QB backup Upshaw got injured as well
-Won the game with 3rd string QB
-Down to our 3rd string TE(maybe 4th) and that is a position that is a key to Fritz's offense.

Southern has a huge Bulls Eye on its back this season. Every team wants to be known as the team that took down the new kid in school. Southern has started slow in both road games this season which is concerning!

WVU game stunk and we let Idaho hang around too long. We need to come out of the gates with some strong drives! Wear ULM defensive line early and go from there.

RE: ULM - Georgia Southern
I think this is a penalty game. If Southern keeps it's PI calls down to 2-3, we win. If not, we are going to give up a TON of unearned yardage. That can even the playing field quickly. Look for ULM to go deep and look for plenty of yellow hankies.

Not even going to predict an end score.

The mystery days of the SoCon are gone. Feel's nice to have a more informed opinion. (Though I still may be wrong). I'd really like to see Breida split out wide. He's too good and too fast to not experiment with as a receiver if you're going to be passing the ball as much as you guys do.

THIS!!! Getting Breida out in space is huge. The long runs up the middle are nice but seem to totally up to the o line and a little luck with LB being out of place a lot of the times. It is not like he is making huge cuts or running over folks. When he gets a pitch in space it is a huge play and he speed it really utilized. I like Ramsby more up the middle as he does run folks over and lives off contact. Really wears a D down.

As far as this game goes I expect GSU to start out slow as in the Idaho game but once ULM's D line wears down even a bit GS hits its stride. We will see what both teams are really made of in the second half when conditioning and depth become apart of the equation.

The only thing that worries me is our coaching staff showing signs of a little stubbornness in the first half of games not willing to adjust on the fly and as always our passing game. QB's are far from accurate and are just hanging balls up sometimes.

There is no way to tell what ULM is this year. uga demolished them, Nicholls state might be the worst FCS team in the country and defensive beat down in AL. The only thing that you can go off of is only holding AL to 34 points. Other than the WVU game that is looking more and more less shameful by the week for GS and we are hitting our stride. I think the schedule was set up good for GS to get right before our first tough conference game. Had we opened up in game two with conference play this whole season might be different.

GS 28 ULM 23

Yes we are playing Louisiana Monroe this week. Oh, you meant Louisiana Lafayette. Easy mistake, don't worry everyone does it.

Just kidding, don't tar and feather me.04-cheers

This week has me worried. My heart tells me Eagles win a close one but my head tells me we lose by 7.

I would be more worried if I had seen more promise in their offense. Their defense seems great. Offense not so much. I think they struggle more with scoring than we do (all of course under the assumption that we aren't giving up massive amounts of free penalty yards)

Where do y'all think ULM are going to find points? Their offense is not good, and we have a good defense.

ULM is an above .500 team in conference at home and they matched up very well up front against GS last year. I'm sure GS has better athletes and more of them, but it always comes down to the beef and controlling the LOS.

It'll be interesting to see if GS can pass well enough to open up the running game.

They have a very good defense as well. Very good defenses are capable of giving their not so good offense a short field, score defensive TD's, etc.

I just want to go in, get a win and get the hell out of town.

RE: ULM - Georgia Southern
Love the guy over on the ULM Scout.com team site. Says that ULM will win 42-14 since their players are better, their coaches are better, GS is one dimensional with no passing threat, as a team they are healthier than GS and ULM has been working on GS at practice for two weeks. Said they didn't prepare for Alabama, since they knew they couldn't beat them anyway.

Priceless.....
