4 weeks in?
Now that everyone has got to see 4 weeks of football and the divisional battles are getting ready to heat up, what's your opinion on how the divisions fall into line now? I know my opinion has changed, Auburn was not the team I thought they were and our offensive line is killing us. I still think Louisville makes a bowl game, Clemson has to many injuries to beat FSU and Syracuse really opened my eyes against LSU. Boston college could surprise but I think they are still a year away and NC state could make some noise, we will find out more about them next weekend. In the coastal Duke shocked me with the upset over GT and VT was a big let down against ECU. Miami has impressed me so far but I'm still not sold on there consistency. UNC and Pitt have potential, Pitt losing Conner hurt a lot.

That all sounds about right. I'm so disappointed in VT right now it's hard to think about the rest of the league... this is a down year overall. MAYBE it's a transition year (if you believe that Miami, Pitt, Syracuse and BC are on the way up). UL is rebuilding. VT and UVa need a new coaching staffs. UNC is tbd.

That's about right but I would put Clemson #1 just because I like Watson over Golson.

RE: 4 weeks in?
FSU v Clemson depends on which Golson shows up. If bad Golson shows up, Clemson wins. If good Golson shows up, FSU can beat anyone.

As for everyone else, it's still too early to tell. NC State might be good but they haven't played good competition. I'm not sure UNC has learned it's lessons from the SC game. If BC had a decent QB, they'd be scary. The same goes for Duke. Syracuse is better than I thought. They actually gave LSU a decent game. UVA is a dumpster fire. VT needs to "quietly" plan Beamer's departure. It has too much of the later FSU-Bowden years feel to it. It appears GT did indeed lose too much off last year's team. Wake may never reach bowl eligibility again. As long as Golden is in Miami, I won't have any faith in them.

I think we need a couple of weeks of conference play then revisit this question.

I can see Syracuse winning 8-9 games this year, as long as they stay healthy at QB.

I'm seeing more from teams from the Atlantic than I am the Coastal. I think UL is closer to the top 2 than being in some mix for 3-15.

5-11 can be mixed in any order you want at this point. As for Miami, I'm not ready to put them in the grouping with Louisville and Syracuse just yet.

1 FSU
2 Clemson

3 Louisville
4 Syracuse

5 Miami
6 Duke
7 NC State
8 Boston College
9 Pitt
10 Virginia Tech
11 Georgia Tech

12 Virgina
13 North Carolina

14 Wake

Good Golson vs bad Golson? Lol

What injuries does Clemson have?

If Miami loses to FSU - again - their season will crater - again. Duke or gt will win the acc's g5 division.

It's FSU or Clemson in the acc's p5 division. NC state? Give me a break.

Also not sure why uva is getting special treatment and not being lumped in with wake as putrid.

And I could've told you vt would struggle this year

FSU and Clemson will both lose one or more games to those teams they consider so inferior.

That's nice. The division winner will be either FSU or Clemson.

I wouldn't want to bet against that. Still if the rest of the league is so inferior you should waltz through and end up in the playoffs. If you don't either you aren't all that or the rest of the league is so inferior after all. I'm just sayin'.

Miami, Clemson, and FSU will all be joining the All Crap Conference Club shortly. Everybody else is already there.

Have you been in a coma? Is your interwebz broked?

We've won 25-straight against the ACC, 3 straight ACC titles, and 15 ACC titles in our 23 full seasons in the conference. Our winning percentage in ACC games is 82.3%. It's 85.4% since Fisher took over.

FSU and Clemson have won the last 4 ACC titles and won the last 6 division titles.

If you agree that FSU or Clemson will win the division, what are you trying to prove?

Does Frank Beamer retire at the end of this season? Will he be asked to retire? USS Virginia Tech is starting to sink with Captain Beamer at the helm! 07-coffee3

Just that it is a new year and while one of you will most likely win the division one or more of those other teams may well win against Clemson and / or FSU. (maybe that tag at the bottom of your posts has something to do with it too)

VT may be sorry they scheduled that game against Tennessee in Bristol. That one thing seems to be what Beamer is hanging on for, and that one game could cost them three lousy seasons (or more).

James Madison called. They said you set the bar too high at G5.

RE: 4 weeks in?
Just back from international travel most of the month. It's definitely a crap month to open play for the league. I haven't had a chance to watch UofL vs Houston and Clemson off my DVR but the Cards heavily disappointed with 3 losses by a TD or less. I was really surprised to see the way GT and the Hokies tanked yesterday.

Unfortunately I see little to no middle of the league depth that will garner respect in the polls later in the season even if someone outside the top 2 rattled off a winning streak. Perhaps NC State if they win their first few games in league play, as generally anyone from a P5 that makes it to 6-0 or so is ranked.
