It will take a miracle for them to win 7 games. I'm not convinced they are even good enough to beat ASU and UA.

We might have fell off the short list after our 3 pt road loss to IU, but 3-1 against decent competition leaves us in the top 8 I would say as of now.
We will likely be knocked off for good when we travel to LSU, but there's always a chance.
Sorry but you guys have as much of a chance as Georgia Southern.
Not true. GSU plays in the worst FBS conference. WKU plays in the second toughest conference, and the toughest division in that conference.
We also play cross-division against the toughest 2 teams in the West (La Tech/Rice). Our in conference resume will be just as good as anyone else's, and our OOC is pretty far up there as well.
Way to try and make lemonade out of grapefruit....
Saying your the second "strongest" conference is a very subjective statement and you know it. Most of CUSA wins so far have come from FCS teams and teams with no wins or one win.
Now let's highlight the fact that out of 14 total teams only 2 teams have a winning record.
Rice one of the teams you are bragging about has wins against an FCS team and a CUSA team that has been has been terrible for almost 20 years. And the lost their last game by 43 points....La Tech has a win against guess what a FCS and a terrible CUSA team.
I think WKU has a pretty decent squad this year but like I said before you are in the same position as Georgia Southern. Your conference is a joke and it's not likely that you will beat the SEC team you play.
If WKU beats LSU then we may be able to say you have a chance. But even then teams like Temple still have a better chance than you as they have not lost yet and play a better schedule.
What everyone is forgetting is that the Access Bowl will come down to one of five conference champions. The American which is maybe the strongest overall this year can't place three teams in the pot so all of this conjecture is pointless. The American, CUSA, MAC & MWC will all have conference championship games this year and the strongest conference champion from this group will get in. The Sun Belt wouldn't even be considered without an undefeated team because we don't have a championship game which the selection committee has been shown to prefer. So why even argue about it before the conference championship games are decided.
The Sun Belt does have a championship game. It will be played in Boone a couple of Thursdays from now when Georgia Southern takes on Appalachian State. Up until last season, it was formerly known as the SoCon Champioship game, which goes a long way to explain why an 11-1 winner of that game will not be getting the access bowl slot unless everyone else has 3+ losses.
