Two times in a row over NC State; UNC and VT. I guess that VT and/or UNC must have won a game or two somewhere in that stretch.

The 1st of those 2 consecutive wins against NCSU was back in 2010 when they still had Russell Wilson. We lost to Maryland in a bowl game later that season when they were still in the ACC. Since then we have beaten UNC 2x in a row, NCSU another x and as of Saturday VT 2x in a row hence 5 consecutive ACC victories. AAC actually looking every bit as good as the ACC this year.

AAC every bit as good as the ACC? Ummm no. You don't even have a team ranked. ECU fans have the biggest inferiority complex with the ACC I have ever seen.

Like rankings mean something; they are a fraud.

The AAC doesn't have anyone the caliber of FSU & Clemson & the bottom is weaker. Other than that they are competitive this year. The AAC is up from last season & the ACC is down from last season. I would say the AAC is competitive with much of the mid level P5 this year.

Let's see how Clemson & FSU wind up the year. Both still have to play Miami, which UC just beat. And UC has lost two in the AAC already.

Not only that but as bad as South Florida is they gave Florida State a pretty good tussle for at least a half.

I am never sold on Clemson. I always take a wait and see approach with them.

Yes, Clemson always seem to have one or two bad moments a season.

Florida State has faced Texas State (59-16), USF (34-14) and Boston College (14-0).

Clemson is 3-0 after facing the murderer's row of Wofford (49-10), Appalachian State (41-10), and Louisville (20-17).

Houston, also 3-0, beat Tennessee Tech (52-24), then beat Louisville (34-31) and Texas State (59-14).

So the Coogs beat Texas State by 2 more points than FSU did and Louisville by the exact same margin Clemson did.

Sorry, but there's no reason for me to believe based on what has happened so far that FSU and Clemson are better than Houston other than the fact that ESPN talking heads and poll voters keep saying so.

There is actually a word in the Urban Dictionary for the annual WTF performance that Clemson has.

“The act of delivering an inexplicably disappointing performance, usually within the context of a college football season.”

That is "Clemsoning".

This https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/earl...clemsoned/ from the Washington Post explains it.

Miami-O went a perfect 5-0 against the SEC from 1973-1975:

S 29 at South Carolina ...........................W................. 13-11
D 22 vs. Florida * ........................................W....................16-7
O 5 at Kentucky ......................................W................. 14-10
D 21 vs. Georgia * ......................................W................. 21-10
D 20 vs. South Carolina *...............................W....................20-7

* 1973-75 Tangerine Bowls

Miami owned the SEC in the 1970's

It's not the AAC's fault the pollsters are idiots and just vote based on reputation. The Coaches Poll still has Oregon ranked for example. Temple, Houston and Memphis should all be on the edge of the poll (recieving votes and just out or in the low to mid-20's).

Preach it Brother....
Unfortunately no one knows more about bias against The Big East / American than Louisville, West Virginia, Syracuse and Pitt fans. We fought this battle every year.

The Big East had a winning record against The SEC and won more BCS games than The ACC. Yet The Big East got little to no credit

All good points. Perhaps I should say as they're perceived to be given their talent level based on recruiting rankings & on their tradition. But yes, they haven't proved it on the field yet, which you can say about a lot of teams still. This early in the season we are still separating hype from reality.
