Their expectations should be curbed for the below reasons (IMO):
1. Vandy has a much better defense than us.
2. Vandy has more talented players than us (many were recruited under Franklin).
3. OM has superior talent compared to us.
4. Our defense is like a sieve.
5. OM has the best defense we will face this season. We had trouble running the ball on Cincy. I suspect it will be difficult to run against OM.
6. OM had an emotional let-down after playing AL. I think we will receive their full attention in part because the game is part of the "plant the flag" strategy of gaining more support in Memphis at our expense.
7. Our home field advantage will be mitigated by the relatively large number of Black Bear fans attending the game.

Everyone is aware why olemiss should win the game. I'm pragmatic, but some of y'all sound pathetic. Go ahead and bend over.

Wow, calm down. It is just a messageboard.

Anything can happen.

There are no transitive properties in sports.

Well put.

It is as though folks think we do not know that mipiiiii and for that matter utk, Florida, Alabama, Ohio State and many more have more talent.

Yet the reaching for the lube seems a bit odd. We all get it. And indeed, from a pure analysis even a SEC mispiiii is better.

But, being a sports fan means understanding reality but having fun anyway. And probably not feeling compelled to constantly pucker up for another school.

I will say this, Vandy's D is actually preety solid. Combine that with a hungover (maybe literally) Ole Miss team and you get an ugly, close game.

Memphis' D will have to play MUCH better if they expect to make that game interesting. That being said, I expect the Tigers to score on OM...

Very impressive D-line!!!!! able to get pressure from down lineman as well as stop the run was impressive....O Miss has blinding speed to edges! Our jet sweep will be more than tested! I would cut Pax loose....I don't think they can stop him!

Good to know because I can only judge your anger level based on the content of your posts and "go ahead and bend over" is an incendiary phrase when stated face to face. It is an angry phrase.

My post's goal is lower expectations to hopefully avoid the demeaning posts (like yours above) when expectations are not met. I want to win and hope for it.

I don't think expectations are high for that particular game. That is where I think the disconnect lies.

I repectfully disagree. The OP stated that if Vandy can hang with OM, then so can we. Other posters appeared to agree. I showed reasons for not setting high expectations in the belief that it may help mitigate the searing posts we tend to get here after defeats and especially loses when we fail to met expectations. Granted, It is probably a vain attempt.

Vandy may have a better defense than we do but we'd beat them so there is that.
