They have no right to be playing at the top level.

The game against Mississippi State will be on the SEC Network.

ASN/NESN would probably be interested. Maybe some combo of that with ESPN3 streaming of those games thrown in.
Also, when Navy's contract win CBS Sports is up, they will move their home games to the AAC contract, so maybe there is some backfill interest in the UMass games from CBS Sports.

I'm still surprised the Sunbelt chose to invite Coastal Carolina over doing a temporary deal with UMass (similar to the deals the SB has with Idaho and NM St). That would have given the Sunbelt 12 teams and a CCG without making then take a candidate that is not quite ready. Coastal has a lot of potential and will be fine over the long term, but it seems a bit early in thier development to step up to FBS. It seems like a temp deal with UMass would have given both parties a reprieve. The Sunbelt would have got its CCG and had more time for its favorite candidates to develop. UMass would have had a conference where thier young program could develop. Seemed like a good match. I guess the SB wasn't interested in that type of temporary arrangement.

SBC sounds like they are moving away from the football only arrangements with the NMSU/Idaho agreements coming due.
Maybe the SBC decides to think SOS first and cut NMSU/Idaho loose.

I'm not so sure on that, but i'm not an expert on TV rights. Doesn't the home team control broadcast rights in most cases?
ESPN was apparently helping behind the scenes with the UMass Indy schedule. It wouldn't be far fetched that they would sign a small deal to control the rights and have the option to put any decent games (UCONN, Miss. State, BYU, USF) on broadcast with the others on ESPN3, or sell rights to other networks.
