This was really hard as some teams have played the cream of the crop while others have played cupcakes. I know this isn't how these are typically done, but I'm going to give credit to teams like BGSU, KSU, and UA for going 2-2 while docking teams like CMU, WMU, and NIU. A 1-3 team can quickly spiral out of control.

Docking teams like NIU? Really?
Well, he has NIU ranked third, so I'm guessing that was an oversight.
Bronco, while I understand your reasoning (though I don't really buy it), here's another oversight. Kent is 1-3. And going by your reasoning, I don't see how they are ahead of CMU. ... CMU lost two pretty close games against top 20 teams (MSU being No. 2). The third loss was very close against a Syracuse team that just played a top 10 LSU team to the wire.
Kent has two close losses to decent unranked teams and a blowout loss to another unranked team.

While it's selfish of me, I hope they fall back out after Saturday.
Sorry!
Glad we are not ranked! I think the last two times we have been ranked we have lost to the Cards
I think my favorite BSU - Toledo memory was the 3 holding calls in a row inside the 20 and then the Corey Parchman KR.
My favorite BSU-UT memory is Homecoming '93. With BSU behind 30-3 with 4:10 to go in the 3rd, QB Mike Neu led the Cards to four touchdowns in the remaining quarter and change to gain a 31-30 victory, capped by a TD pass with no time remaining. BSU had UT's number for a good many years, and especially in years when UT was very good. Hoping for a good game next week, but the Rockets look outstanding right now.
My favorite memory of a Toledo visit to Muncie was the 2009 game. When Ball State scored with 42 seconds left in the game, they decided to go for the win rather than the tie and successfully completed the 2 point conversion making the score BSU 30 UT 29 and the Ball State fans were feeling pretty good about their situation at that point.
Toledo ran the ensuing kickoff back to their own 49 yard line and on the very next play Aaron Opelt connected with Stephen William streaking down the sidelines behind the Ball State defenders good for a 51 yard TD with 27 seconds left. How the Ball State defenders let Williams get behind them is a mystery to me, but there he was running free and Opelt thew him a perfect strike. Opelt then hit Eric Page for the 2 point conversion to make it 37-30 and that was the final score.
Of course that would not be likely to happen this year because, with the possible exception of Cody Thompson, UT doesn't appear to have a receiver who can catch a perfect pass thrown that far.
Remember that like it was yesterday. How does a WR streak down the sideline with 40 seconds left and no one covers him? I thought the game was in the bag.

I agree. I think Bronco thought KSU is 2-2. At 1-3, they definitely have the worse resume.
As far as the cellar, I'd put Miami there. While Miami played UC close, they only have a win over an FCS school, and not a good one. EMU at least has a win against an FBS school. But its splitting hairs.
My rankings would be:
1. Toledo
2. BG
3. NIU
4. Ohio
5. CMU
6. Akron
7. Ball State
8. WMU
9. Buffalo
10. Kent State
11. UMass
12. EMU
13. Miami
Regardless of the rankings, it seems like the league is pretty balanced, even at the bottom. The top also looks very strong with the NW Ohio teams leading the way.

Really interested to see the NIU-CMU game tomorrow. It should tell us a lot about both teams. Right now CMU has looked about as impressive as you can for being 1-3. They played as well or better than both MSU and OSU, but big mistakes when it mattered the most cost them a chance at a W in both those games (three penalties inside the 10 against OSU, two blocked FGs and the games only turnover on our own 30 against MSU). Really it was the same with Syracuse, although they simply didn't execute in OT. In the end, they still took a loss in all three games, but if they continue to play at that level, they could very well compete for a MACC if not win it outright. Looking forward to getting a better read tomorrow.
I'm torn. I want to see CMU's confidence get a kick in the balls. However, I also don't want to risk them being angry next week going into Kalamazoo to play us (WMU). Also, I would like to see NIU take a hit by CMU to make the conference championship easier to obtain by someone else.

Answer: Nov. 21st, 2009 vs Ohio. NIU lost in Athens 38-31.
Since that loss the Huskies are 3-3(1-2 @Mt Pleasant) vs CMU and 35-0 vs the rest of the MAC. If anybody can beat NIU its the Chips.
