Virginia may be one of the worst overall programs in football history. They have no sole conference championships since 1908. They have been absolutely dismal for 30 year stretches before.

George Welsh as I recall got them to#1 in the country in the polls with Herman & Shawn Moore. They were a consistent 8-9 win team in an 11 game schedule back then.

Not saying there weren't collapses in there, but they were up there for a time.

So they never won anything. I kinda vaguely remember laughing about them being over rated when they had that old grumpy looking ichabod crane for a coach. Guy always looked constipated. I don't remember them ever winning anything of significance. I'm getting old though my memories may be wrong. They may have sucked worse than I remember
