True but there's big difference between Indiana/Illinois and Kstate. I actually thought coming into the MT and WKU games that they would win.

We fare better against the bottom half of the SEC then the Big Ten..Just seems liked we get mauled more by Big Ten OL then we do SEC....IU and Illinois are wins if we ever had them at home, still tough to go in Big Ten Country and even get a win vs. the bottom of the barrell..IU will be in a bowl this season and upset someone, not sure about the Illini..

Big difference? Maybe by the end of the season but you can't really say that yet.

I do not understand why our coaching staff is incapable of having any sort of 'killer instinct' in games like this where we definitely need it. Blow outs are fine, okay whatever, but it is just inexcusable to me for our coaches to call RUN PLAYS with less than 1:30 on the clock after we only have gotten 1-2 yds all game on those same silly play calls. It burns clock and plays, and gives our special teams much more distance that we could have gotten thru the air with our QB who is actually good and our WRs who make big plays and did all game. I am just extremely frustrated and annoyed with our coaching staff particularly the offense, we played so well to get it back to where we could win and take it home but no, they have to do their classic "scared to win" attitude. Needless to say this is a very very upsetting loss, not because we lost (ok, partially) but because of how we lost. Our OC seemed to lose his brain in the last couple of minutes and left it somewhere in Champaign.

Kstate- big 12 champs, access bowl, ranked the past 4 out of 5 years. Illinois and Indiana bottom of the barrell big 10. Tech beat Illinois by 28 2012 in champaign and by 17 last year

Same song different tune. So many close losses, the problem is no one outside of cusa respects close losses. WKU, then La Tech, now Middle someone needs to step up and right the ship consistently. Talent is there, we need a Boise State to emerge from the conference.

Big difference like Indiana is probably better than K State? Stop it, just stop it.

Not sure I would go that far. Indiana is probably a 6 or at most 7 win team if they're lucky with their defense. I won't be surprised if KState still pulls off an 8 or 9 win season.

Have you watched us at all the last couple of years? We have been extremely successful in the past running the ball in late game situations like that. You have defense expecting pass giving you underneath stuff so they are susceptible to getting gashed by the run there. Go back and watch the FAU game from last year or UAB from 2 years ago and tell me you can't run the ball late. We had 1 more minute but no time outs and we had to have a touchdown not a fg. We ran the ball 10 times that drive. I didn't hear the complaints then. It didn't work this time, but we had the time and TO to do it. Plus it's not like it was a failed 2 min drill. We had a 43 yarder not 60. We have to make that kick. Special teams cost us this game.
