University of Memphis Hospital
ESPN kept talking about it when they had Gunner there, it was actually Methodist. Had a nice ring to it, perhaps in the future. With the ambitions and resolve of the current administration, who knows.

I DVRd the game and I am now getting a chance to watch it, we represented very well. I had friends and family from all over the country texting me last night and today, telling me how good the game looked on TV, they were very impressed.

I do believe that the University of Memphis and our fans took a giant step last night in gaining the attention of people that matter. Just my opinion..

No, medical schools and hospitals are crazy expensive. You would have to have a massive budget for that.

The name Methodist University (which used to be Central) is confusing. Don't know why they call it that other than it is a training hospital for UT.

That's why, and that's a very big deal. When they snagged that from Baptist, it was quite a coup.

The Board of Regents has the UT Medical School here. The U. of Memphis will never have its own medical school.

TBR has nothing to do with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. It's controlled by the UT system.

A medical and dental school is currently being discussed. Never say never. President Rudd is very forward thinking and as a clinical psychologist, he has a background in health care. Memphis has a huge under served community in health care.

That used to be one of Calipari's subjects he'd rant about.

That UTCHS should be a part of The University of Memphis.

Let it go. UT does a very good job running the medical school. If it ain't broke don't fix it. U of M can excel at other things.

It might if we pursued something similar to what Syracuse is considering as far as a medical school that primarily trains doctors for the VA Hospital system.

Don't know how to imbed a link using my phone but insidehighered.com has a good article on it. Just search for 'Syracuse medical'.

It opened at the beginning of August.

Several programs also were taken out of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the beginning of the fall term to create the new School of Health Studies.

It won't happen until the University is independent of the TBR as we all wish it was. As long as TBR governs, we'll have presidents that do the bidding of Nashville. The emphasis on TBR is student enrollment at the expense of academic prestige. As an example, I was at a conference with secondary education administrators and principals where Raines asked us to send her our 30th percentile students.
