I hope Bowen has a list -
Bowen needs to have his list ready. No need to pay a firm to tell us who to hire.

Fuente is so gone. And he deserves everything he will get. He brought us back from the dead. My early prediction is he replaces Spurrier at South Carolina. Regardless, I am going to enjoy every last minute he is here!

These posts are ridiculous - if you were going to "enjoy every last minute he is here," you wouldn't be wasting mental effort trying to predict where he might or might not go and then post about it.

Maybe my mental capacity is significantly greater than yours.

Why would we not hire the same firm that found Fuente? Your whole post is stupid.

Why do you need to pay someone to do your job for you? I am quite sure that same firm has recommended plenty of duds to other schools. But clearly, you are an expert on college coach hiring firms.

Actually, Eastman & Beaudine Management Consultants of Plano, Texas is pretty much the best in the business. Head hunters like them give you a lot of options and in these cases, you find great talent that is "under everyone's radar". The whole idea is to find the best person, so you increase the size of your net. Many talented people like Fuente and Bowen, do not put their names out there in the public as seeking a new opportunity for obvious reasons. So far, we have benefited greatly from their work and connections. I see no reasons NOT to use them. If you do, let us all know about them.

The University of Texas has way more money than we do, so I guess it makes sense for them. They paid a S******* of money to hire AD Steve Patterson from ASU who has already been fired and Charlie Strong who wasn't under the radar at all. Granted this isn't the same hiring firm you are talking about, but the point is the same. Some hit and some miss. My point is, do we not pay Bowen enough to have targeted guys who can win without needing the help of a firm?

Maybe because his "job" is running the athletic department, not pre-vetting every potential coaching candidate...most of whom are currently assistants somewhere else.

Even in the middle of an unprecedented eleven game winning streak...some lie in wait to take shots. It is like VD...a disease for them.

What a bummer of a post. I think most here realize he is a good coach and it will be difficult to keep him and we should appreciate and enjoy what we have now. To say he is gone when the season isn't even half over AND deciding where he is going is wrong.

Make a prediction on that other coach.

Word on the street is Fred Smith as informed his fellow parishoner at St. Louis Church and head football coach Justin Fuente that if he leaves, it won't be becuase of money.

Search firms do more than just "find" people. They vet the candidates as well, something an AD would not be as effective at doing.

The search firm did an outstanding job for us. Our second choice is currently at Florida. Meanwhile, without a search firm we managed to become the worst football team in the country...and yet somehow we still think NOT hiring the search firm is a defensible position...take a deep breath and try again. We ABSOLUTELY hire the search firm, and pay them whatever the hell they want.
