Knee was down before the image you show...

People at the game saw a different view than ESPN showed. If you rewind about a half a second you will see is knee pop up after it hits the ground...But you cant see it from that angle because the Cincinnati players foot is blocking the view.

That angle shows the ball was lose when he hit the ground!!!

A split second before that screenshot there is more or a refutable but not irrefutable shot of his right knee touching.

This shot does nothing but prove my point.

Frames per second crybabies

Keep crying though

Yes................ But can you explain with what tin foil theory what angle the refs would have that ESPN didn't?

Ok.......... Again not saying he wasn't down but the call is controversial because it was a crucial part of the game and no angle available irrefutably showed he was.

Why am I crying? Just providing an unbiased opinion from someone with no skin in this game.

part of being a winner and supporting a winner is something I'll call grace - maybe you can call it class - from the hog / heart attack waiting to happen in the stands playing air guitar on a megaphone, to "fans" like you, its part of the growth process. I get it that you're all excited about the game - a big win for UM. BUT, as Paul Brown used to say, act like you've been there before. Realize that that game could've gone either way - if the fumble had been upheld, uc probably would've scored last - don't get so f'in cocky.

Memphis fans would act like we'd been there before if not for some fans (UC, UCF, and UH in particular) repeatedly reminding us that we should 'know our place'.....as if we're actually supposed to apologize for every win and kiss the rest of the league's butt for even being allowed in the league. Yes, the game could have gone either way but let's also recognize that there were other calls and non calls which could have affected the game in Memphis' favor as well.

How about this, Memphis fans will stop acting so cocky when UC and other fans stop consistently looking down their noses at us. Y'all are in the same conference as us. None of you are going to be mistaken for Bama anytime soon.

Could you stop bringing ucf fans into this? We've got enough on our hands as it is with our current team lol.

I would find it impossible to believe that the network broadcasting the game wouldn't have access to all angles.

I can believe that said angle was not available in that moment but in the subsequent 15 minutes that they wouldn't show that angle on the broadcast.

I really don't care one way or another I was very entertained by both teams. Good luck the rest of the year until you play us.... 04-cheers

RE: Knee Down
This isn't even debatable. Ball was out before his knee hit. Period. Cin would have had the ball in (or near) field goal range with about 1.5 min on clock.

Now Memphis still had to go cross the field to score, and Cinci could have stepped up and stopped them... but with the time left and field position, it's VERY likely that if Cinci gets the fumble call they win the game.

Refs deciding the game outcome sux.

The view showed in the stadium was better.

Look. It's a big board in a big stadium with a bunch of people cheering around you. I get it. I don't blame you if you were there live. But his knee wasn't down.

If it is just an mysterious angle that memphis fans were privy to, why did the replay booth official see it as well

I guess from now on there needs to be sensors in the ball, players knees, shoes, elbows, etc.

If it is necessary to slow down replays to .0000001 seconds or whatever to verify an official's call then maybe we should just say stick with the original call. Maybe there needs to be a cutoff on how many frames per second can be used to verify a call. It's kind of ridiculous no matter if you are for or against the call.

Go Tigers Go!

Well, I do agree that one play does not make the game. I mean Gunner's pick six was the difference in my mind. But that came near the beginning of the game and UC had time to make up for it.

Reversing a call with 2:22 left that would have given UC the ball 20 yards from the goal line...that's a true game changer.

RE: Knee Down
We need this stadium picture. Hopefully it will appear somewhere today. I wasn't there, and from what I saw on the TV, I wouldn't have overturned the call.

In any case, bad calls are a part of sports. We have been victimized MANY times by bad calls that cost us games. It sucks, but what can you do? You can't control the refs. For so many years we have sucked in football and been ridiculed by so many others, but stayed dedicated to our team. I am pretty happy to be 4-0. Time to focus on USF. Go Tigers!

But if you can't see it, how do you know it was down?? I was under the impression that the ref's saw the same replays as we do since ESPN (in this case) provided the shots.

No maybe what is seen through compression frame rates on espn is not the same as what the refs have on the in house feed.

The answer to that question is my question....

How does there exist an angle the was never shown in the over 15 minutes they spent on it for the broadcast or in the remainder of the game?

It wasnt just brought up in that moment. Again not saying he wasn't down it just takes irrefutable evidence to overturn a call on the field.

I find it extremely unbelievable that ESPN would not play that angle.

Oh well good luck till you play us!
