Oh please, it's a little douchey but there's nothing wrong with it. If you actually read the letter it says just as much about meeting the RA and the other guys in your dorm as it does about meeting girls. It talks about drinking but it's not like it says anything about getting girls drunk, and doesn't say a word about hooking up with girls. I can't imagine anyone actually being offended by this.

Yea, this "type" of thing isn't really anything new. Putting it in writing and just handing it out to a bunch of dopey 18yo Bro's is beyond stupidity.

Did you actually read it? It mentioned pretty much everything you just said it didn't.

It said to invite girls to pregame and out to the party. I'm sure all of the freshman girls would just hate to be invited to something like that and are super-offended.

There is nothing offensive in this. People just want to be outraged all the time now.

This frat is headed towards not being able to visit JMU's campus after they graduate in 4-6 years.

It is creepy, and totally moronic to put it in writing. But this sort of things has been going on forever. My frat used to race out to the hot freshmen girls and ask them to be little sisters.

If my memory servers, and unless things have changed significantly, this approach rarely, if ever, had the desired effect. Girls are smart enough (even freshmen girls) to know douche when the see it.

This is creepy but a total non-story.

As bad and stupid as the written guide is (and it is dumb!), the responses of "I am so fearful for the girls at JMU" is just a little over the top, no? Are we that sensitive that we need to protect all females from drunk idiots? All schools are full of drunk idiots, from Harvard to Parham Road Community College.

I think the timing of it is what makes me shake my head. They know the media is all over this stuff. They should be kicked out for just being absolute idiots more than anything.
Putting it in writing is absolutely asinine. I can't fault them for wanting pretty girls at their parties. But asking those guys to smuggle alcohol and pregame with them could lead to a lot of trouble.
