Toledo's rich RB history
Some help on others career stats would be appreciated. Maybe even early career stats??? Where does our current corps rank with RB names like Tait, Taylor, Martin, Dawson, Parmelee, Collins, Thomas, Williams, and Fluellen?

I feel like what we have currently is like taking 3 or 4 of these names and putting them on the same team...

This is what we have for our what seems like veteran group.

Hunt
TR. Jr
366 carries, 2626 yards, avg 7.17 ypc, 23 rsh TD

DJM
RS. Jr
134 carries, 822 yards, avg 6.13 ypc, 13 rsh TD

Remy
RS. Jr
89 carries, 448 yards, avg 5.03 ypc, 2 rsh TD

Swanson
TR. So
114 carries, 738 yards, avg 6,47 ypc, 6 rsh TD

RE: Toledo's rich RB history
Cool to see the stats lined up against each other. My subjective favorites based upon how fun they were to watch:

1. Tait- something special. Still have a sick feeling in my stomach from sitting in the stands and watching him get injured in the Indiana game.

2. Taylor- dude was a beast. Minnesota game is another unforgettable game.

3.Mcbeth

Didn't include Kareem, just because he' still playing. If he was included, he' be number 1. He seems to have the complete package. He has Taits mobility and and Taylor's power. He's also one hell of a nice guy. Have a picture of him hugging my 8 year old after the Go Daddy Bowl and he's the one that came over to my boy's and talked to them after the game.

I thought Morgan Williams was a real good back. He had great HS stats prior to Toledo. I think his problem at Toledo was he didn't always get along with the coaching staff....wasn't he recruited by Amstutz prior to Beckman arriving? I remember going to the OSU game and I think that was his 1st game????

Williams was at ut from 08-11. 2009 he had a pretty darned good season. Then Thomas kind of broke out in 2010. 2011 williams was shaddowed by Flu and AT. He had a blocked punt against OSU right? The 2011 version?

Who was the big, brusing back (not scooter) we had 8-10 yrs ago. Not a lot of yards. Had some funky disease like sickle cell anemia. He was fun to watch.

William Bratton I think. Ut has always had not just good backs but exciting backs. Adonis Thomas was one of my favorites. Tait during his healthy Jr yr was spectacular. Hunt is right up there in terms of production and style. Taylor was similar in that he struggled w nagging injuries until his sr yr

Bratton.... was featured on ESPN and SI. Broussard was involved in the $$$$$ scandal. Didn't play that much.

I was at the Glass Bowl the night that Tait was injured. They were playing Indiana. A few plays before Tait was injured, UT tackled Indiana's RB along the brick wall on the press box side of the field. When UT got the ball back IU gang tackled Tait and stood him up....the pile awkwardly pushed him backwards. I thought the play was in retaliation for tackling the IU player out of bounds.

Pretty sure Broussard was the only that actually admitted to intentionally fumbling the ball.

Please! That name is not to be mentioned ever again. The guy in question was from Lima Senior. Name eludes me. The other back was part of the point shaving mess.

Roland Moss played part of the time that I was at UT. Great player from a great HS program at Passaic HS. The QB on the team with MOSS was Jack Tatum/OSU/Oakland Raiders/Daryl Stingley. Could never understand how Moss ended up at Toledo. 6"4"", great track star. First time I saw him in the dorms he looked like he was 30 yrs. old. Craig Heyward also graduated from Passaic...but years later.

Not Brussard. Your RB was from Lima. Name is escaping me.

This is quite a list of RBs. Duane Collins was great. He was important in the Michigan win.
