Saying he quit on the Falcons isn't completely fair. True his ego didn't mix well with the owner but he didn't have the control over the team that he wanted. Being locked out of the team facilities was a clear indication that he wasn't going to be employed much longer. Still he should have found a better way to leave Atlanta. As far as coaching the last 2 games, not sure how much coaching he would have been able to do & in college the sooner you start recruiting the better. I think some of his criticism have been overblown but he brought that stuff on himself.

Petrino is no more a liar than 30 other major coaches I could name including one Charlie Strong that bold faced lied to multiple people and recruits before taking the TX job. Petrino just made it an art in his younger days. He was also supremely arrogant. So arrogant that when the ownership in Atlanta failed to live up to their end of the bargain by not giving Bobby total control he told them to ---- it and left. He was a crazed perfectionist and treated everyone who failed to meet these expectations like dogs. Sadly, I'm not convinced the new kinder, gentler Bobby isn't quite pushing his coaches hard enough. Well not Quite a lie. Charlie and His staff Were telling recruits and fans "We will be in the big 12 !" but He just didn't come out and say "only the coaching staff would be" .
