Sportscenter just had Kirk & his son on
Discussing the upcoming week. His kid Loves NIU, Hare, & took NIU sitting right next to Kirk. Surprisingly Kirk giving approval of the pick & did not even but in to say anything bad about NIU! Is this a new Herbi!?? First a compliment of us, then a positive tweet about us, now his own kid loving us on national TV.... What could be next!?? Perhaps College Gameday @ Huskie Stadium!!!!??!

Is his son 8? I really have no idea....

He was probably groaning inside but didn't want to show it in front of his kid. Kind of like if your kid becomes a Packer fan, I know it's tempting to ostracize him from the community, until cooler heads prevail.

Herbie is too busy fighting other battles on twitter. He got into it with Leigh Anne Tuohy (the lady behind the Blindside movie) over Mississippi's win at Alabama. I guess he was his usual condescending self in reporting that game and outcome. She took offense to it, so it's not just NIU that makes little Herbie mad.

I don't think Kirk approved of the pick -- he defended his son's decision in spirit by saying "Remember, this is an UPSET pick... these are hard to pick...," but he Didn't say HE thought NIU was going to win.

He probably scolded his kid off-camera, and told him unless he's right ("... which you WON'T BE, Son!") he's grounded for a month.

Oh my god!! who cares?!? LOL, Do we really need a talking head douche canoe like Herbstreit to validate NIU. #teamDesmond

This 'talking head douche' is probably one of the few people that actually gives NIU attention. Desmond, too, but not much outside of that. Anything positive is good.

He probably heard whispers regarding NIU "moving up", so he started his ass kissing early.

He also got hung out to dry by his son for an attempted "High-5" too. I kinda took a little solace in that! LOL!

Kirk's kids are (depending on whether they've had their birthdays yet this year) 16 or 17 (twins), 13 or 14, and 9 or 10, so this would have to be the youngest.

uh Ohio State fan reaction was so angry toward him at one point that herbie moved, no joke. He did not feel safe
