It is difficult to get a read on the 2015 Mountaineers as their two games have been against one of the worst teams in the country and one of the best.
The App State offense is similar to our's in that they have a grinding running game (Cox is the man) with a respectable 202 yards rushing vs Clemson; and short passing with a good Taylor Lamb at the helm. He is not a dual threat but can successfully tuck and run when necessary.
I believe we can stop them if our defense isn't forced to stay on the field for an excessive amount of time.
On defense App is better vs the rush (140 yds vs Clemson), but even so, held Clemson to a respectable 252 yards passing.
Near the end of the NC State game we went back to our vintage Spread passing attack and had some success, We will need to do that vs App.
I am not sure what "pull out all the stops" meant vs NC State, but whatever it was, I didn't see it,
at all. SB is a good QB, and will get better as our receivers stop dropping the ball. SB can run, but he looked very awkward on that 1 yd run for the first down.
We have an excellent cadre of running backs now.
Maybe it is time to expand our running scheme above and beyond just the inside handoff?
Our OL will not be over-matched in this game, and our DL should get penetration.

I believe that the coaches saw what I saw near the end of the NC State game, and we emphasize our short passing game keeping the Mountaineer D honest with Lawry and the run.
ODU 31 App 24, but we seriously could score more if our passing game clicks like I think it will.
