Exclamation Miami OH vs WKU
With all in injuries we have mounted and the way Miami played Cincy this week, this game has me a little worried. Can anybody give some insight on the story with Miami and the turnaround from last week they had. Most WKU fans was hoping for a easy game to get some players healthy but it seems that has changed

Thanks

RE: Miami OH vs WKU
Miami played semi-rival Marshall last year pretty close. Marshall pulled away at the very end, and always was at least 1 step ahead -- but one would have thought Miami was going to be pretty tough later on that year. They weren't. So bear that in mind.

WKU disappointed losing to Indiana. You should be worried if you were a Miami rival. They play in another gear it seems then.

You guys don't need all your stars or anything to beat them -- just tough, sound, smart, etc -- and you shouldn't be worried about potentially losing.

Good to know, of course you must respect your opponent no matter what. Yes " our loss to Indiana is still stinging , but having our number 1 and number 2 running backs both out showed big time. We must get healthy to be a serious threat to anybody from here on out

RE: Miami OH vs WKU
For the first time since 2010, Miami has a good running game now that our OL is improved and we have some talented freshmen RBs. QB play has been pretty blah, we've swapped it up between an inexperienced 5th year senior and two freshmen, though we have some playmakers at receiver. I don't really know what to make of our defense since we were so bad against the run yesterday and before that I thought that was their strength, so this weekend will be a good measure of how good they really are going into MAC play. WKU's game plan should be to attack our secondary and take advantage of our special teams (which suck) to get an early lead, forcing our QBs to win the game.

However, we haven't won a road game since 2012. I don't think we break the streak this week, especially against a solid WKU team. With regards to our vast improvement over the Wisconsin game, it mostly had to do with us getting two starting OL and one or two secondary players back from injury, along with the rivalry hype. We were leading UC so much throughout the game that I'm not sure how we'll respond with that psychological letdown, we shall see.

Having a weak secondary would not be good news for Miami since we have one of the best passing QBs in the country. If you give Doughty time to throw he will eat you alive, but if you can get pressure on him like Vandy did and he might get rattled. I think this game comes down to WKU and if we can get a running game going again which was non existent against Indiana , and if we do it might be a long road trip home for the visiting team

Doughty is one hell of a QB. I wouldn't want to face him unless we were good at pressuring the QB (which NIU hasn't been lately).

RE: Miami OH vs WKU
Miami is playing a ton of freshmen and rs freshmen in our rotation (25-30), we play a lot of people. Because of all that inexperience, I think we will struggle on the road most of the year, but be much better at home. I would also say we have been better against the run than against the pass, so the matchup favors Western Kentucky. Incidentally, Coach Martin said in his weekly presser that Doughty is the best QB he has seen on tape since he twice faced Luck when he was at Stanford and Coach Martin was at Notre Dame. Coach Martin said he called up a coaching buddy with the Jets about Doughty.

Will many Miami fans make the trip down to Bowling Green? And for anybody coming down, please feel free to ask any question about food , lodge , activities, ect. It takes me about 3 hours flat to get to Cincy if that helps with a time reference

Not many will, losing has killed Miami's traveling fan base. I guess since both teams are red it'll be a little less obvious.

I am going to the game. I saw today that rain/thunderstorms are predicted for Saturday. I plan to get there around 11 your time so do you have a BW's or a similar sports bar where I can watch some games and eat before the game?

You will have plenty of sports bars to chose from and most around here choose local owned over BW for the quality and experience

BW3's
Double Dogs ( fav ) http://www.doubledogs.biz/
Lost river pizza co (fav) http://lostriverpizza.com/
Overtime sports bar and grill http://overtimesbg.com/

These are just a few of the hot spots with good food and they are all a five min drive to the stadium. I hope the rain holds off, just two days ago there was a zero chance of rain but that seems to have went out the window.

They'll probably wrong up at the wrong stadium. :) And get killed by either team!

But I'd rather play WKY than Bowling Green right now. However, Miami's still in their development phase.

Ugly game (for Miami!) Our biggest weakness on D is our secondary, and we are no match for WKU's QB.

Nice little group of Miami fans made the trip to Bowling Green ky today, I didn't expect the difference in talent to big as big as it was today. Good luck the rest of the way and I'm sure WKU will be playing a MAC team in a bowl game later

Thanks for the information. There was a nice gameday atmosphere, tons of tailgating. Parking was the worst, seemingly anything close to the stadium was reserved for season passes. I am optimistic that this will be the last year that we have to watch anymore of these onesided games. WKU should have a great season.

I hope you was treated with respect while on your visit. It was family weekend which did make parking kinda tough. I agree that your team was very young and should only improve with each game played. I expect the return game to be much closer
