"The Hit"
Football is war with rules. The QB paid the price, as did Mitch. End of story.

BTW: I would have gone for two at the end of regulation (we have the playmakers). Our defense was gassed in overtime.

RE: "The Hit"
It should be, yes. The hit was penalized, the DE was ejected, and the QB was able to walk off the field. But some Syracuse fans are determined to make it a conspiracy rivaling the Kennedy assassination. Death threats? Really? 01-wingedeagle

If you go back to the first time we played in the Carrier Dome, look at the number of CMU players that Syracuse put out of the game with cheap shots.
They're notorious for such plays. Regardless, LSU will rag doll their ass this weekend.

This year, it seemed like it was the Syracuse players who were always getting injured. CMU played a physical game with them and it seemed that Syracuse wasn't expecting it or up for it.

That being said, the hit was a definite penalty and deserving of our player being ejected. That's what the rule is for and it was applied correctly in this situation. Even if it's not intentional, players cannot lead with their helmet or hit another players helmet who is in a defenseless manner/position.

Any word on the severity of Tyree Waller's injury? One of my favorite Chips.

Two things, Hawk:

1. If you've ever been in New York, you know there are people who will kill you
for looking at them.
2. Big bettors get postal when they lose what seems like a sure bet (thus, the death threats towards Mitch). A lot of people lost a lot of money on that game.

Bono, said aside from a few bumps and bruises, we came out of the game pretty healthy.
