Looking ahead
I have to say I couldn't be more impressed with our showing today. Yes, Drew had an off game, but those happen, and truthfully, I didn't expect him to have that good of a game vs. the caliber of defense in OSU. Our D really stepped up today and I don't expect us to lose another game this season. Watching BC last game vs. Florida State, our D should easily contain BC's offense and come away with a win. With that being said, if we can get past BC, CMU, and Toledo, does a 12-1 NIU have deserve a shot a NY6 bowl? I am a firm believer that this is our year, to not only make another access bowl, but I am not afraid to play anyone in that bowl and I think we have a good shot at beating whoever that would be. We have too many weapons on offense and defense for us not to run the table and have a more than favorable chance in winning our bowl game.

RE: Looking ahead
I agree with this thread 100%. I think the defensive is improving each week especially the secondary!!!!!!!

I think we need to see how we play in our next few games. I don't think OSU's offensive execution or game plan was very good. BC, Toledo, CMU, WMU, BGSU could all trip us up if we don't play well.

RE: Looking ahead
So many things still have to happen...we're three games in and the MAC is never the cakewalk people assume it will be.
Hopefully NIU responds next week. Hopefully they aren't completely spent like I am right now, ha. This loss could take some time to get over and time is not a luxury they have. Back to work!

One game at a time. BC is next week and that's all that matters at this moment.

Assuming we win out (not as easy as it sounds), and assuming Ohio State wins the BIG, I can't see how the committee would not give the Huskies the NY6 Bowl. We would have one loss, on the road by 7 points, to a playoff team. No other Group of 5 team would have that resume.

RE: Looking ahead
We need to slow the roll. This team needs to play complete games in all phases before thinking about winning 9 straight and the MAC Championship.
And if the coaching staff keeps calling conservative offensive plays in big games then we will never win the BIG game.

CMU will be tough on the road, as will that school in northwest Ohio. WMU has a little score to settle in Huskie Stasium as well. BC held FSU to 14 points. Next week will be tough as well.

Hopefully we can add quick passes to our playmakers to our repertoire. I don't know why we only ran it three times today when we've had so much recent success with it. We obviously need work on our middle screens as well...

RE: Looking ahead
There are 5 games on our schedule that could go either way. Playing tOSU tough doesn't earn us anything. All the Michigan's, Toledo, BG, Ohio...he'll look at how respectable Buff, KSU, Miami and UMass look today. The MAC is up this year big time.

RE: Looking ahead
Let's take it one game at a time. We played well today but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Next up BC. Let's get up for that game and not think ahead!
