I coulda swore I watched Cincy win today. And saw that Memphis barely got by BG as did tO$U vs NIU. Didn't top 25 Arkansas just lose to the MAC last week? I never cease to be amazed by the histrionics on this site. There's some real "wacko birds" in here.

Ive always been defense of TT. Even now, I'm willing to wait the year out before passing a final judgement on the guy. And from the few interactions I've had with him, he seems to be a genuinely nice person. But his laid back attitude is really harmful the program right now. The players just don't seem like they give a damn whether they win or lose. That sort of coaching has worked for Marvin Lewis in recent years, but it's really only effective if you are certain that your roster is far superior and more prepared than the opposition. In that case, keeping calm and letting the system flow is great. In TTs situation, it's allowing all these teams with far less talent to hang around with us.

You guys are right. We should have hired Kerry Coombs as some advocated. If only we had an emotional guy on the sidelines getting everybody fired up, then the players would finally start caring about winning and losing! We'd be unbeatable dammit and never even have a close game! Where's Jim Leavitt - bring him in Bohn! Now!
[/quote
I understand your point, but give me a some reasons behind your position. Give me some facts to back up not being concerned about the direction of the program, instead of just being contrary.

I always find it amazing that other games in which UC is not playing have absolutely no freaking bearing on anyone's critiquing of UC games.

Hey, I was just glad we have a football team to take the field this afternoon. The fact we squeezed a victory out of our dreaded nemisis to the North is just extra gravy.

The team had their uniforms on and all made it on-time...Tommy earned his pay and a bonus in my book.

We are very lucky we played Miami today and not BG or NIU or Toledo.

Nice leap you make. Most didn't advocate for Kerry combs but I would say most can smell the bull**** from tubberville.

All of my friends are nice but that doesn't make them a good coach. I have a hard time thinking of a program in college that the coach is as laid back as ours....paterno and Bowden at the end of their careers but they were at those schools for over 30 years and even they showed more fire then Tom tubberville.

It works in the pros because you have the ability to cut players and for most this is a career but in college you have 4 years and the likely hood of losing your scholarship doesn't exist.

I don't post much and I'm not here just to bash coach but this team has no energy and the play calling is the worst its been in years think we might need to find a young up and coming coach with some passion worked before just me 2 cent

I'd say Dantonio's win over undefeated, top 10 Rutgers was pretty standout. He also had one of the worst losses of my lifetime as a UC fan getting beat by Army in year 1 with a pretty talented UC team (and another getting beat by Louisville 70-7).

Jones's first year was an absolute abomination.

The defensive line was decimated before Tubs arrived and they've been doing their best to stopgap it since. Hopefully we are on the verge of that dramatically improving.

There's been plenty to be critical of the staff for, but all in all it's not like this program has fallen off completely. Program was 24-14 in the 3 years before this staff and is 20-9 so far with this staff. Perspective is hard for many, however.

20-9 against who vs 24-14?

150 games won in major college football....what's your record...in fact I would venture to say that tubbs has one of the best won - loss percentages in bearcat history..

Jones 1st year was expected by reasonable minds. Everything pointed to that being a long year. You know I poked fun at you and lots of others before that season for crazy youthful expectations. Sorry.

And the record we have put up the last 2+ years, it's been largely against stiffs. Not all 9 win seasons are created equally. This team has taken on the easy like Sunday morning personality of its head coach. That is great if they are socializing. Not so great if they are playing football every Saturday.
