RE: Memphis Most Awards - 2015 Results
I think the flyer's best of is a better representation. A lot of stuff voted on in Memphis most are from suburbanites who come into the city on occasion. Case in point e's won the best coffee shop and Starbucks made the list. Best burger - hueys? There is a burger renaissance going on right now - Hueys isn't even on the top 5.

Corkys best BBQ?

In your opinion. I think Huey's DOES have the best burger. Corky's definitely is not the best.
Rendezvous is. See how this works?
Are we really about to start another best bbq thread?

You mistook my point for a "my opinion is best opinion!" statement.

My overarching point wasn't on differences of opinions or that mine is necessarily better, my point was that the CA includes a larger demographic (suburbanites) who don't regularly sample all the food wares that the city has to offer. The flyer's voters seem to be much more in tune with the city's more recent comers.

E.g. have they ever had a burger at Roxie's grocery? Oshi? LBOE? Belly Acres?

A lot of suburbanites don't make it into the city often enough to try these places. That was my point. They tend to lean toward the familiar.

This is true. I think I'm the exception since I work downtown but there are a ton of people that still think Huey's burger is the greatest of all time.

It isn't.

Oshi and Belly Acres has them beat. I haven't been to LBOE yet.

Corky's is far from the best BBQ in town.

LBOE is definitely worth checking out - I like their burgers better than Belly Acres, but Belly Acres is good as well.

I think I need to order simpler at BA.

I've had all of those burgers. Don't think any of them are the best in town. LBOE was very bland, IMO. Still better than Huey's though.

you made it down to roxies?

so what is the best in town?

IMO, it is oshi for the upscale/trendy and roxies for a good ole fashioned greasy burger.

Yup, went a couple weeks ago to Roxie's actually. It was pretty good but no better than Sweden Kream or some others that are made in a similar style. My favorite burger in town is from Interim, I think.

I was not impressed with Interim the one lunch I had there but I haven't had their burger. My neighbor is now their executive chef so I will have to give it another whirl.

Hands down the best mac and cheese in town.
