What incentive do you give someone that comes to your program and works hard in practice?

Special teams is often where new players are broken in; they made mistakes now they'll sit and learn. Hopefully they'll get more opportunity.
You cant be serious

We need to hold the rope

Can I get a chest-bump..?

I actually think he is answering questions HONESTLY.

Can we resurrect he's playing too much golf and making too many commercials?
He isnt here so why does it matter?

This is what I've been saying all along. I love when young guys are good enough to play right away and have truly earned the PT by beating out others.

I'm even fine with getting the other "not so ready" young guys experience, but not at the expense or risk of losing an important game.

There are plenty of opponents on the schedule where the time will be appropriate to play and experiment with some of the less than ready freshman and still get them valuable experience.

It doesn't. More logical fallacy to derail the conversation, warts and all.

Allow me to explain... Coop stated he should answer in one way (Marshawn), by using "Butchisms" I was hoping to provide a point of view that I would rather hear TT answer as he has than with phraseology such as "hold the rope", etc. Sorry if my point wasn't as coherent as I imagined.

No attempt to derail, just pointing out in my view I like TT's answers to questions better that CBJ. Next time I'll say it that way.

Yes @ES, my question was serious... I hoped to spark a conversation about playing time for young newly recruited, talented players and then used several examples of how the NFL and colleges use rookies, Freshman, etc. Just asking those that criticize to give me their thoughts. I agree with playing them late in games but special teams is very viable and used by most if not all teams.

We certainly don't want starters getting hurt on kick off and kick off returns if we can help it.

Fair enough. Thanks for clarifying. I retract my comment. Differing opinions are all good.

Agreed,

I remember when we won games by flipping field position with punts or hitting long field goals as time expired. Now it seems like there is a weekly gaffe on special teams.

Huber was such a weapon for us....often overlooked by most.

I remember when we played some defense too...(2007, 2008 come to mind).

Interceptions by our defense might be a good indication that we had more play- makers back a few years. 2007 -26 interceptions
2008 -17
2009 -16
2013 -13
2014- 8
DeAngelo Smith in 2007 had himself 8 interceptions the same as our whole team last year.

I agree. Why would you do that against maybe the best team in the league.

This decision to get kids experience against Temple was crazy. Like I said earlier, stupid should hurt. It did.
