For many, it is pointing out the fact that there are still a large number of racists out there.

Bear Bryant once said "you can't win with a white secondary". According to one school of thought, he wasn't a "racist", but a "racialist" - one who believes (without hatred or prejudice) that each race has, on average, certain inherent traits and abilities (the key word being "average"). Of course, it is certainly taboo these days to say such a thing, despite evidence which might back it up.

ESPN has a long history of stoking the flames of racial animosity. This is the same organization who hired Rush Limbaugh to make controversial statements on air to garner television ratings, only to fire him when he did what they wanted him to do.

In addition to Limbaugh, they have retained personalities like Skip Bayless, Jamele Hill, Stephen A. Smith, Rob Parker and a myriad of others to insert racially charged topics--- often blowing them completely out of proportion and creating argument when none exists.

I have lived a long enough life to know racism exists (and see it first hand. At face value there could be a lot of merit to this article, however ESPN just has zero credibility with me on the issue.
