Brief Survey of GOP Candidate Websites - Positions
So, I'm picking a few of the GOP candidates and quickly surveying what they have out there on their positions. I'm not looking so much at what their positions are but whether they actually take any stands on things out there. Here are some findings and my thoughts:

Donald Trump
https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions
He has a writeup on Illegal immigration, but silent on everything else. Honestly, very surprised there isn't anything out there on positions about the economy. Really, nothing of substance on anything else. But the one thing he talks about has more detail than other candidates provide on a variety of issues.

Rand Paul
https://www.randpaul.com/issues
There isn't a lot of deep detail, but he touches on a wide variety of subjects - NSA spying, economics, foreign affairs, healthcare, etc.

Ben Carson
https://www.bencarson.com/issues
Same as Paul. He touches on a variety of topics like pro life, budgets, education and foreign affair topics.

Jeb Bush
https://jeb2016.com/?lang=en
His page is a little different and is more like a blog/twitter. But throughout the page you can see a variety of topics discussed and his views on them.

Marco Rubio
https://marcorubio.com/issues/
Same as Paul and Carson. He stakes out a variety of positions on issues foreign and domestic.

Back to Trump. I did find this in the news section of his page, so maybe he should get a pass for now on his lack of positions on major issues. I guess reserve judgement for now, but again just surprised that out of all the candidates he's the one who seems to be figuring it out as he goes. Virtually every other first time politician I've ever seen before had this stuff - at least highlights - fleshed out very early in the process. Not so for Donald.

Quote:During his speech, Trump noted he has several major detailed policy plans forthcoming. He’s already published his detailed immigration reform plan—the only candidate to do so—and is working on a tax plan, healthcare plan, veterans care, and military plan. On stage, he detailed how if he’s elected president he’d ensure veterans are treated better than illegal aliens—they’re currently not, he said—and how he’d build a military so big that America’s enemies wouldn’t dare pick a fight with this country.

He could literally do nothing and have already accomplished that.

No country would dare engage in war with us. Terrorists, however, will terrorize regardless of military size. They don't fear death.

I can honestly say I have never read a candidates website for any reason.

When you get to a point - like the debates - where little substance is shared, at least these sites should make clear who these people are and what they stand for. I've been to candidate sites a number of times during elections to get an idea of who makes the most sense for my vote.
