Stepec Enjoying Upset Win

I have to admit when I watched the game on replay, Stepec was one of the players that really jumped off the screen as having a big game. UA's tackle really had difficulty controlling him 1-on-1.

I also have to give Heacock and Campbell props for playing a 4-3 and moving Voss to LB. I can't remember UT playing a true 4-3 in a long time, if ever. Our DL is our strength, so the 4-3 allows us to put more Dlinemen on the field at a time to cause havoc.

Yes the Rockets were the more physical team, particularly on defense.

Stepec is the guy I saw as a freshman on the KO coverage team and KO returns. He constantly blew guys up on his charge down the field. He just looks like a true football player. Thick and muscular but also looks to be athletic with his speed. He ain't gonna back down from anyone. Could tell he was going to be an impact player on defense at some point.

RE: Stepec Enjoying Upset Win
yeah, one of the keys to the game was being able to generate some pressure rushing 4. we weren't sacking the qb, but he rarely had time to sit comfortably in the pocket and check his options. a lot of our linemen were tough for arkansas to handle 1 on 1. i wouldn't say we dominated them, but our guys weren't getting swallowed up by their huge line like some folks feared. also, our lbs did a real good job of taking on lead blockers on running plays. several times their lead blocker just got blown up, and they were sending some big strong guys into the holes, it just looked like we were more intent on creating contact.
