Renee Bemis just sent these pics from the foundry. Very exciting to see the sculpture taking shape!

If you haven't donated to the campaign, please consider making a donation. Thanks to everyone for your support!

Since our committee is small, we need a little help from all of you on the board. Will you please post on here if you see the article (press release) & which paper? Thanks - trying to keep track of who publishes & when.

RE: Memorial for Diesel
This is great news that they plan to have it done by the home opener. I recently named my dog after Diesel. They brought him around with other therapy dogs after the school shooting. It meant a lot more than they would ever know. Im excited to see this statue in front of the stadium.

I'm on the Diesel Memorial Project committee. We are VERY excited to see the completed sculpture as well! :-)
The sculpture will be on the west side kind of near the Chessick practice facility. We felt it was a great idea to honor Diesel as well as all live mascots who follow him.
If you have not yet donated to the cause we sure could use all the help we can get. At this point, we will not have all of the funds to pay off the foundry but we will continue to fund raise even after the sculpture is placed.

We can accept donations directly now not just thru Go Fund Me. Donations can be made by mailing a check to the Diesel Memorial Project Fund and sending it to the First National Bank, c/o deposits, at 141 W. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb. The bank itself was kind enough to also make a $500 donation to the project.

Well since they already have some of it completed, I'm sure it will get done either way....

The sculpture is 99.9% complete at the foundry. It is at the stage where a patina is being applied.

The sculpture will be completed & placed outside of the stadium on a pedestal/ base. Our fundraising will likely need to continue after the sculpture is installed. Perhaps it will inspire more people to donate after they see it. We believe it is going to be quite impressive! I have a more current picture but I don't know how to post it for all of you to see here.

**EDIT** If you click on the link to see the article in the Northern Star a couple posts ago, there is a current picture of the sculpture. :-)
