Aaron Jones out for the year
So, that's two of CUSA's best runners done. The silver lining is that Jones should get a medical red shirt.

Unfortunately, here we come 1-11 (hopefully).

Last year I said Jones shouldn't be used as an every down back.
He just isn't built for the kind of offense Kugler wants to run.

What is going with the injuries this season? Great skill players dropping like flies...Allen also has medical redshirt available if he wants it..

For Utep it's playing P5 schools. I get that they are money games but are they really going to make money when they come home and they team is 0-4? Id rather they play G5 schools and have a shot at 4-0.

Sorry to hear that news. I hope he has a full recovery and can return to the field the same player next year.

Toledo did just fine at Ark and SHSU did a hell of a lot better than UTEP at TT. UTEP came within a whisker of beating TT last year. The TT game was the second game of a home and home. Ark was a money game. I agree that Kugler used AJ way too much. I also didn't like the schedule at all with 3 road games to start the season. I blame Stull for that.

You should get your facts straight fitdude.UTEP hasn't and isn't play 4 P5 schools. Second is that the Arkansas game covered the cost of attendance for 90% of the football team. The Tech covered the rest of the football scholarships and tje opporations part of the team. Third the team stiil has a good chance to be 2-2 by conference play. Untill UTEP can draw 48k for every home game, regardless of the opposition then the schedule will be like it is this year.

Who do you all have to step in? A back like Jones is not an easy spot to fill.

Right. Because it's scientifically impossible to get injured playing non-P5 teams.

To start, it's Jeremiah Laufasa. He transferred in from Washington St. last year to play with his brother. He had his moments before he got injured last year, but he's more of a power back.

Then we have a freshman named Trayvon Hughes. A lot of people are high on him, but he hasn't done all that much yet.

They moved LA Dowell to RB from safety. He started at RB when he came to UTEP before switching him to safety, and played there his freshman year. I thought he was OK.

More long shots: We had a freshman last year named David Hamm. He looked pretty good in limited action. He hasn't played this year, and I'm assuming he's redshirting. They could pull it, but I don't think they will. [Edit] Actually, never mind. He was dismissed, which would explain his conspicuous absence. And, I guess they could move Autrey Golden back to RB, too, but I don't think that's going to happen either.

Where did I say we played 4 P5 teams?

Sure, and I'll take Ronda Rousey out for a date, since we are asking for the impossible.
