I have high expectations too...but you can't reasonably expect us to replicate what Bosie has done. Would it be nice? Absolutely. Should we still hold similar standards? Sure. But to expect that kind of production is unfair.
Why can't I? We have equal to superior means and facilities. We have a coach who's now been here three years, longer than theirs.
I expect nothing less than to be IN THE MIX for an access spot every year (and the ability to be in that mix this year has already taken a huge hit). Seems nothing unfair about it to me.
I agree with every bit of that. My question is why the heck would people not reasonably expect that at this point?
Not that Cat is doing that but some people walking back expectations they had just 3+ days ago is tripping me out.

Im going to retract a little. We should expect to be the best team in the G5 on a yearly basis. However, the success Boise has had in recent years is incredible. I just don't find it reasonable to be THAT consistent with our success. In the mix for the access bowl is one thing, but Boise has frequently made those trips and won on top of a phenomenal record. Thus, I feel as though it's a tough expectation to set for any program, even the big boys.

I guess the context of my remark is, that we should expect to be IN THE DISCUSSION every year. I don't expect to win EVERY big game. But fact is, lately, we've been LOSING every big game of late.
And we'd better start getting much closer to the former than the latter. I'm not on the "can TT" bandwagon just yet, but I'm certainly down to my last few straws.

This. This losing the big game is getting ridiculous. I like CTT, I have given him time, but it is year 3, and it is time to produce. Period. I am not of the mind to can him right now, but for 2.2 million a year, you better start winning big games. Oh yeah, and stop saying assanine **** like the pressure is off, and happy to be in a bowl, and starting out against the worst two BIG teams in decades is too much. That BS has to quit.
Well said, but everyone was jumping on the fire Tuberville last year after Memphis game. Did the coach throw 4 interceptions? Did the coach fumble the ball?

You must be young. Coach Tuberville will do just fine at UC. He will have some great years and he will have some off years. If you think UC is going to go 10 & 2 or better every year, your smoking the wrong stuff. That's not realistic.

Dear MrP:
You must be smoking something or on meds. However, you seem to know absolutely nothing of UC Football. 10 wins is the standard here now. 10 wins, in this conference, is definitely a reasonable goal.
I've been a season ticket holder for over 10 yrs. I go to some away games and all the bowl games. 10 wins is a reasonable goal. Just don't expect it to happen every year. There are just to many variables in college football for it to happen every year. At my age I am on a lot of meds.
Well, Texas Tecate doesn't have anything to exactly thump their chests at since the departure of Coach Tuberville. Kliffie Kingsbury is in year three but has a 14-13 record overall (6-12 B12). To his credit, he does have one bowl victory - 2013 Holiday Bowl. He's paid $3.1 million.

He's 60. Time is running out.
Yeah? Well, I'm 73, and I climb 14,000-foot mountains. Only half the oxygen up there as there is at sea level. You youngsters come out to Colorado for a climb, and I'll lead the way.

Congratulations: I'm 73 also, but I can't climb a 14K mtn. Keep up the good health and Go Bearcats.

cathv2.0: Name me one P-5 or G-5 that has done what Boise State has done the last 15 years? What Boise State has done is outstanding to say the least.

Good on you, Hank! I worked on trail crew for the Forest Service out of the Leadville Ranger District for a few years in the mid 90s. We spent most of our time in the Missouri Guich (working on Missouri, Belford and Oxford), but also spent a chunk of time working on the trail up Mt. Huron. Saw some amazingly kickass 60- and 70-somethings out on the trails. Seeing those folks made me pledge to stay in shape until I'm you're age and beyond. On Tubs, unless he's willing to change things up, I hope he's out there checking out the aspens in late September with you here in a few years......

Also, why exactly isn't 10 wins a realistic expectation in the American conference? UC should be comfortably 2-0 right now.
John Wooden and Dean Smith were in their 70's and so was Tom Landry O'Leary and many other older winning coaches and they did just fine. Age has nothing to do with having a winning program. Recruiting, Recruiting and Recruiting have everything to do with building a winning program. Coach Tubs will do just fine at UC. I would love to be an Asst. Coach under Coach Tuberville. As I said before you must be young.
Landry wasn't exactly setting the world on fire at the end of his career.
lets see you have 20+ winning seasons in a row..making the playoffs most of those years..and KEEP a winning roster put together with high draft picks. Cannot be done in today's NFL
