Exactly!

Insanity! No market logic to the ticket price. Certainly not based upon supply and demand. if not for the Fan Plan, my kids would never see a game. The average family simply can't afford to drop 200 bucks. We are effectively pricing out the casual fans.

Agree. Think T-Town is also right on that we won't sell out. I think our athletic department needs to do a serious look at the whole fan experience on game day. It's not real positive from the ushers, prices, tailgating, etc. $40 a ticket isn't going to attract the casual fan.

Just paid $55 for the game in Little Rock. The tO$U game a few years back was $80 IIRC. $40 is a steal and you can get kids tickets for 1/2 price.

The fact is, they do have the Fan Plan. Kids Club members get 2 tix to 2 home games.

Toledoans can find anything to complain about.

Furthermore there are $35 tix avail in sec 1,2, 8, 10, & 26, which also means you can get kids tix for $17.50.

Seems like a lot of rumors and bad info are going around! Heard from a friend that he heard it was a sellout. Came home, checked the forum, and sure enough...bad info going around. I'll be sure to pass this info along, even if the subject doesn't come up!

$35, not too bad for Iowa State, if you don't alteady have season tickets.

The Ultimate Fan Plan was $80 for the season with food and Rocket gear
voucher with a parking pass. $40 for UT employees. I can't believe this isn't sold out every season. UT has the recent grad deal also.

Maybe I'm just not paying attention in the right ways...but I'm not seeing/hearing much community publicity about Saturday's game?

I'm hoping my buddy picks me up one of those student tickets. I could use his ID and get in for free but I don't know how strict they are about that. $20 dollars is way easier to spend than $35-40.

Where is there general admission seating other than the student section?

Are we a poor city now!? I know hundreds of OSU fans from the area that spit money like its salty water for Buckeye games. 40$ is a steal for college foltball with a team on the verge of getting ranked and a big12 school. Having 20$ tickets as top end would mean we are scum scrambling to sell tickets like EMU. This program is built enough where 40 isnt a bad price. If people dont like it, they should have gotten fan plan tix. Who knows maybe people will buy those for the remaining 6 games.

Season-ticket sales also have risen since the game, thought UT still has available seats for this week's game against Iowa State. Toledo has not had a home crowd larger than 25,000 since its 2012 game against Bowling Green. Since 2008, UT broke 25,000 in only two other games, against Arizona (2010) and Boise State (2011).

RE: Iowa State Attendance
I remember seeing ticket prices for our recent 'specialty' home games in the upper 30's/low 40's, thinking it sounded like a lot--granted I've always gotten in with fan plan tix, student ID, or as an AD employee. But I remember looking up tickets to the Baylor game at Buffalo last year and those were I think $56. Didn't help them much to have lost a woeful game to The Army leading up to it, but they could only put 24,000 into their 29,000 seat stadium for that one. I've got no issue with the $40 admission and I'd be pretty ashamed to come up short of 24,000 in our situation.

I purchase fan plan tickets, so single game prices don't effect my plans. How they should price them should depend on the value. If UT sells out the Glass Bowl at current prices, then yes, the public views it as a good deal. If it doesn't sell out, especially by a few thousand tickets, then it is being overvalued. Comparing how much people are willing to spen on OSU vs Toledo is not a valid comparison, because the general public does not appraise them as being equal. Event/items are only worth what people are willing to pay.

RE: Iowa State Attendance
Of course the ticket pricing is designed to optimize revenue, not attendance, so keeping a $40 pricing for the Iowa State game should help sell season tickets. After the Stony Brook wash out, Iowa State for all intents and purposes is our first of six home games. If the Arkansas game caught the interest of the typical casual fan, does it make better sense for that fan to buy one ticket for the Iowa State game @ $40 per ticket or buy a family plan for all six home games at twice that amount ($80) and get free parking to boot?

Exactly my point. We haven't sold out in years. Regardless of what other schools are charging, If we are not selling at 90%capacity on a consistent basis, tickets are overpriced. If the "casual fan" doesn't see it as a value it's not. We need to get them in the door and interested in the program first. Once you have a consistent crowd, then we can adjust ticket prices to fit the demand. It's worked well with the fan plan. I've been buying 7 every year since it began and have no problem with them raising prices.

Tix could have been free and we wouldnt sell out Stony brook on a thursday probably. Then they left because of rain so it doesnt matter.

This is the first game of the year. We can sell out more than one game this year and be at 90% for 5 of 6 remaining home games pending decent weather. If UC was hosting Purdue what would they charge and be able to get % wise. Probably way more than 40$.

If the ticket price was based on the players' efforts, from what I witnessed Saturday, prices would be in $70 - $80 range!

Amen! I seriously hope UofToledo is right and we play to a full house the rest of the season. Those young men deserve it.
