It was a disaster this weekend. I believe we have some good teams but didn't play well this weekend. I am rooting for WKU to win out until the championship game. It was so weird having to rely on FIU for the win the conference needed and they didn't disappoint as they found a way to lose.

Most disappointing was Rice. Rice lost to a terrible Texas team because of horrible special teams.

MU will at least eat some humble pie.

NT once again proves that if you have zero offense, it's hard to beat a OK SMU team.

This maybe USMs year as the west is up for grabs.

Well at least this will stop the debate between CUSA and the aac. Unless CUSA plays better it isn't close and I would argue the MAC is better than CUSA.

1-12 Pick 'em
13. UAB (not to offend)
14-19. A few high schools in the CUSA geographical area.
20-22. A couple middle schools in the CUSA geographical area.
23. I'm sure there's a pretty decent Pop Warner team out there.
24. UTEP

We did better than the MWC this week. Air Force was there only win. Now that's a bad weekend.

They played San Jose State, so the MWC also lost that game too. 04-chairshot

0-10 OOC for the MWC last week. Everyone just assumes they are the best league. I don't get it.

In ODU's defense, the weather was pretty nasty. The game was delayed an hour before kickoff, again for an hour and a half at halftime, and it rained pretty much the entire game. There was pretty much no way to get any kind of passing game going.

And turnovers cost us our game, too.

We have to fix special teams, but Turnovers hurt us more.

Fix two special teams breakdowns and get rid of 4 egregious turnovers (of our 5), and we'd have dominated Texas on the scoreboard the way we did at the line of scrimmage.

Lots of positives for this game too, hopefully our running game will serve as our bread and butter in conference play.

But based on two weeks body of work I think the consensus of this thread that has us in #7-#9 range is hard to argue against. Glad that North Texas is up next.

Don't get me wrong, with hosting LTU,WKU, and surging USM all at home, Rice can still contend. But we need to put some things together.

I won't rank everyone but I do also agree WKU asserted as the front runner.

Gonna be interesting to see how the last week of the season's power rankings stack up to the first two weeks. Still a lot of on the job learning happening for our programs.

RE: Week 2 CUSA Very Little Power Ranking
Week 2 Power Rankings: Week 3 can only get better right?

1. WKU- Vandy looked good vs. Georgia for the most part and we beat preseason best team in West..? remains how we do without Allen rest of the way?
2. La. Tech- Driskel is tough, Dixon is just wow
3. FIU - Still an impressive win at UCF, hung with IU the whole way until bad play at the end to make score worse than it was
4. Marshall- You need a QB but talent still there on defense and still have Johnson at RB
5. Rice- Cannot count out the Owls
6. MTSU- Will Grammar take job back with a shaky freshmen at the helm? Or will coach's son cause a QB controversy and divide their team?
7. FAU - Hope Johnson is back healthy or it could spell some trouble ahead
8. Southern Miss- Still a lot to prove, but I think they will finish top 5 before its all said and done
9. Charlotte - 2 easy teams to open, will be interesting to see how they stack up vs. MTSU
10. UTSA - Tough schedule to start so they can move up rather easily
11. UTEP - Defense seems to have taken a step back, did they lost a lot of starters from last year?
12. ODU- Not sold yet with a shaky freshman QB and still as suspect defense, however Lawry could get this team bowl eligible easy, he is the real deal
13 UNT- Showed me very little last week

Shaky? He walked our team straight down the field multiple times against Alabama. We just couldn't convert in the red zone. He still showed a good amount of poise playing on the road against one of the best teams in the nation. To answer your question, no.

Charlotte would dance all over UTEP. UNT would only beat the Miners by 17, which will be our (UTEP) closest game going forward. Oh, I forgot that we play Incarnate Word. There is still hope. 03-banghead

Ditto. We had issues in the game but QB play wasn't one. He had one interception. He threw up a jump ball to his best reciever on 3rd and long. It was about like a short punt. The way our punter was playing that may have been the better result...

I don't think anybody that watched that game thought Stockstill was shaky. I am Grammer fan but his touchdown was blown coverage against 3rd string. Compare Stock's 2nd game against Bama to Grammer's 2nd game against Minnesota. There is no controversy.

Have you watched Stock play? We have him for 4 seasons. I don't ever think I've been more confident in our team going forward than I am right now. That's not to say I think we'll win the division this year, but I am higher on our team than I was before the season started. I also think we're going to be a force for several years to come.

You gotta be kidding me! Alabama wasn't wasting energy on MT!
They allowed them to leave with dignity.

3) USM -- victory expected against FCS Pee
They beat an FCS team too, how are they ranks so high?
4) La Tech -- close game against WKU

There was a super storm and it was lightning. The game was delayed for like 2 hours! They only allowed a field goal and the touchdown was on a blocked punt. Every single time they got into the red zone, we stopped them. NSU is actually one of the better FCS teams. I hate people that don't know anything about college football puts in their pocketlint! (You aint worth 2 cents)
