RE: Game day Deux
Well...temple could somehow lose twice!

It's a long season...ECU looked pretty decent against UF tonight and it's too early to tell about UCF.

Tommy just said "I felt like we did a pretty good job keeping them off balance..."

Uh, yeah... Jahad Thomas was off-balance because he thought we would actually touch him.

Gunner suffers from overconfident big arm syndrome. Those type of guys throw for a lot of yards however they turn it over by forcing throws.

There is a chance that TT is a very good coach with a stacked roster or when playing bad competition...but we consistently look bad against teams with a pulse.

RE: Game day Deux
I'm really tired and pissed right now, but the whole "We left a lot of points on the field tonight and it's not the coaches' fault" line really chafes. It's the coaches who are entrusted with the task of preparing the team, it's the coaches who are entrusted with the job of calling the plays and managing the game, it's the coaches who are given the task of making adjustments.

Again, I don't mind losing. I don't mind losing to Temple. I do mind when the team beats itself. I do mind when the coaches let time run off the clock without doing obvious things to make effective use of that time. I do mind when the play-calling doesn't adjust for obvious problems.

I get that for some of you, Tuberville is Teflon. Nope. Tuberville didn't throw 5 ints tonight. Nope, it wasn't Tuberville or Linder who let the second-half kickoff get returned the whole field. I've got it. But just how many excuses do we end up having to come up with? The team wasn't really all that good, the previous coach didn't recruit the right players, the team just couldn't execute... Yada, yada, yada...

I see a coach who got plain out-coached tonight. Rhule had his kids ready. Want to know WHY the second half was so different than the first half? Because the Temple Coaching staff ADJUSTED at half-time and changed things up. And yeah, their kids executed. And maybe their kids are just better than our kids... I dunno.

But I do know this. I like their coach more than I like our coach.

I would trade Tuberville straight up right now for Rhule, Fuente, Herman, or Morris. I like young and hungry vs. old and collecting a paycheck.

Take aways:

1. CIT chased the 2 points too early
2. No more talk of Gunnar declaring early. He may declare but he sure as hell is not first 3 rounder at this time.
3. Embarrassed by the empty seat.

1. Yep.

2. Yep.

3. There may not have been 4,000 warm bodies in the entire stadium at the 5 minute mark of the 4th quarter. Most fans had seen enough dreck by then.

All of the ints were not on him. BTW he tossed it for 427 yards tonight.
There is going to be lots of talk about him leaving early because he is really really good.

Temple adjusted so well at half. Had they not been trying to simply burn clock they would have put up 40+ on us. Dude had a first down at the end and would have ended the game had he just held onto the ball. That was the only reason it was even close.

That's something you say to an assistant coach in private... not in a one-liner for the media.

2 ints were tipped. And 2 were thrown right in the belly of the defender. No way can you say ALL of them weren't his fault.

Temple had a big kick off and a big run. They got a couple of big plays on D.
I am guessing UC had close to 600 yards of offense and Temple around 300.
