takeaways from week 2
first 2 today-
1- Michigan feels a lot further away today than they did last week from being good...
2- Florida St is REALLY struggling today so far with USF.

RE: takeaways from week 2
amazing what 2 hours can do...

Michigan looks a lot better than they started. just wonder how much of it is Oregon St. ESPN had a stat- Oregon St only team in FBS that entered the season with no QB who had played in college football. Think we'll learn a lot in the next few weeks after UNLV- BYU, @ Maryland, Northwestern, and Michigan St before the bye.

Perhaps the takeaways from weeks should be posted on Monday's as opposed to right after the games start. 03-wink

Malik Zaire from Notre Dame out for the season with a broken ankle.

What a rash of season ending injuries we've had lately to big people.

takeaways from week 2
I'm waiting for the obligatory SEC Sux thread. After this weekends performance though, it's warranted. As I stated earlier, there might be 3 legit QB's in the entire conference.

Tenn looks good.

Auburn has no business being ranked in the top 25

RE: takeaways from week 2
the thing though with the SEC- they have had a bad weekend- but still end of the day- 1 OOC loss, and looks possible that they might have one of the 2-3 best wins of the weekend in Tennessee over Oklahoma.

ACC had Louisville and Virginia lose.
B12 could have Iowa St, Oklahoma losing
B10 has Maryland and Rutgers lost already.
P12 has had Oregon St lose already.

UA's kicking game is as bad as ever...

That's a legit takeaway The kicker is a total joke.

A lot.

I've seen high school kickers that were a lot better.

UA will struggle without a consistent kicking game, given their style of play. They need those points.

For the second straight week Clemson was able to win by 30+ points while running a vanilla offensive gameplan and playing over 70 players each week.

I wish they would.

Mike Leach did it at Texas Tech. Their kid, who was my best friend in high school's cousin, sucked so bad they had a campus wide competition to replace him.

I'd say it is about that time for this kid at UA.

yeah and Clemson's next opponent- Louisville- doesn't look anywhere near as good as one could have thought a few weeks ago...And even after the bye, Notre Dame with Zaire out looks a lot less threatening Georgia Tech and FSU may be the season now.

It wasn't during the season but one spring Danny Ford ran an ad in the student newspaper for a punter. Billy Spiers answered the ad and won the job. He was already a baseball player and went on to play in the MLB for the Brewers, Mets, and Astros.

Unfortunately for us, I don't think Nick would ever 'stoop' to that level and admit the kid he picked isn't up to it.
