takeaways from week 2

Not being flippant, but I don't know if beating a rebuilding UT counts as a huge win. It's a great OOC notch to have on the resume, but the Vols and evidently the SEC in general appear to be highly overrated.

think about this though with Tennessee. last week they beat Bowling Green. Who beat Maryland handily today.

Also, a loss would have been devastating for the Big 12.

My take away is a clarification of who the contenders and who the pretenders are in the SEC divisional races. Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and possibly L.S.U. look like the contenders in the West. Georgia, possibly Missouri, and Tennessee look like the ones out of the East. Florida is slowly improving as is Kentucky. Vanderbilt looked some better but is furlongs behind the rest.

USC looks scary good. Defense, offense, and special teams.

I don't see them having a challenge until late in the season in their last two games.

RE: takeaways from week 2
I, unfortunately, did not get to partake much at all today but from what I see in the box scores it doesn't seem to me that the SEC did all that bad. It wasn't like week 1 but it wasn't bad. That is except for Bielema and the Razorbacks. That was pretty terrible. Talk **** about Ohio State's schedule and then you go and lose to Toledo of Ohio? Ouch.

Big Ten looked much better. The conference that stands out the most to me this week by looking at the scores is actually the big 12.

1 big thing for me is with the G5.... AAC is way ahead as a conference...
AAC 7-6 vs FBS 20-6 overall
MAC 6-12 vs FBS 12-12 overall
CUSA 5-12 vs FBS 11-12 overall
MWC 2-9 vs FBS 10-10 overall
SBC 1-13 vs FBS 7-13 overall

Hell, right now, AAC is only 1/2 game behind the ACC for 5th place.

P5 right now-
SEC 15-3 vs FBS 18-3 overall
B12 9-3 vs FBS 16-4 overall
P12 10-6 vs FBS 14-7 overall
B10 13-8 vs FBS 20-8 overall
ACC 8-6 vs FBS 20-6 overall

AAC with wins over Louisville and Kansas. ECU loses on a last second fumble in the swamp to Florida. UCF game ongoing. Temple might be ranked next week.

it still feels like this season is a decent bit more low scoring this year than we've seen in recent years.

Which further proves that while fans say they want to see big OOC schedules and the media say they want big OOC schedules ...... you get absolutely no credit if you do so.

Your cellar dwellers schedule multiple Top 15 teams? LOL IDGAF YOU MUST SUCK LOOK AT THE RECORD.

When fans say they want big OOC schedules, they also want their team to win those games ... but if they are big games on both sides, half of the teams are going to have to go away disappointed.

Of course, sometimes a game designed to boost the OOC record and ensure a school can go bowling even with a losing conference record, like Toledo at Arkansas, will backfire, but even the AAC, boasting of two P5 wins on the day, had a losing record against P5 schools today, 2-3, so for FSU, Georgia Tech and Stanford, it still worked out fine.

With Marshall and Boise losing combined with the American's hot start, the AAC has the inside track to the Access Bowl bid.

Toledo or Western Ky could play spoiler.

If I had to pick playoff teams right now, I'd pick:

#1 Ohio State vs. #4 Georgia Tech
#2 Ole Miss vs. #3 Alabama
