RE: Miami FL
Miami has lots of speed. UC will find out tonight if our speed has improved.
I hope it has because that game can do a lot for perception.

RE: Miami FL
I was worried about how our schedule strength would be perceived after UCF lost their first game. But everything since is working out great with Temple, BYU, and Miami all starting out with some success. It is up to us to get it done on the field each week. The opportunity of a special year is there and it starts tonight.

That's my first thought Billy. They also did not look so good in their games leading up to us.

He has a hysterical sports radio show...or did....not sure if is still on. Petros & Money. Highly entertaining when it used to be on the air here regularly.

agreed. shame when it was taken off. they had good taste in music too

I believe Petros & Money is still on in LA and maybe some other markets. It just got the boot from the Fox Sports Radio national line-up.

I'm with you Billy. I think Miami is going to be a borderline top 25 caliber team, with the potential to be a little better than that. It will be a major test for UC.

Here's a good preview for them

We should stop talking about Miami until after the Temple game.

The point of the thread wasn't to overlook Temple at all. I noticed MiamiFL on tv and since it is a team we are playing this year I thought people may want to check them out.

I agree though...Temple is going to be a test and needs 100% focus...for the team.

Exactly. The team needs to focus on Temple. We , as fans, can focus on whatever we want.

RE: Miami FL
Well, I don't believe in any bad luck hocus pocus, at least with regard to looking ahead. So, here I go: They don't have the RB they did last year and the defense this year should be better. That being said, we have to keep them from throwing all over us, because they can score just as quickly as we can.

I think it will be a competitive game. They won last night, because they were deeper and more talented than FAU. They're going to have to play damn near their best, to beat us comfortably IMO. I'm looking forward to attending the other Miami game, might want to see if I can get tickets to this one.

I don't believe anyone feels Miami is terrible or a fluff team by any means. However, they seem to have some hype surrounding them year after year. I believe they were only picked to finish 3rd in their division by the ACC coaches preseason poll. So, they're not exactly favored to win the ACC.

I watched most of their game last night and I don't think the final score tells the entire story. The game was tied 20-20 into the third quarter. FAU played their second string QB who saw his first live action ever in a college football game for most of the game. FAU also gave Miami the gift of five turnovers - 3 fumbles and 2 picks.

I realize they beat us last year pretty good but we're talking about this year now. I remember several years ago I attended the Cincy-NC State game in Raleigh. They beat us pretty good that night. However, we kicked 'em even better at the Nip the following year.

Can Miami come in and beat us in the Nip? Of course. However, the jury is still out on Miami as well for our Bearcats. Time will tell. Again, it is the body of work that tells the truth and good teams can still struggle especially on the road to get a win.

The bottom line for me is if we're favored to win our conference then I hope we can set the bar a little higher this year to feel we can beat a team like Miami in our house. With all due respect, Florida State they aren't.
