RE: Colbert interviews Uncle Joe
I wrote something similar to this on the UC Political Board, here goes:

As someone who lost my father to cancer at far too young an age I found this interview with Colbert to be fantastic (as well as heartbreaking and uplifting). I can remember in 6th grade thinking of how I would have to be there for my Mom when she was having tough times and especially think that when my dad ultimately passed away 5 years later. Life changed so drastically so early for all of us, but we found plenty of strength in it too. Biden and Colbert captured so much of what I felt so well in this interview.

I've been a big Biden guy for a long time. Voted for him back in 2008. I've always thought he was as genuine a guy as you'll find in politics and someone who had a great grasp on such a wide variety of issues. I doubt he runs, but I'd be thrilled if he did.

You can question his policies and laugh at his gaffe's, but you can't say this man does not have heart and tremendous character.

That was one of the best moments I've watched on television, ever.

I don't like his politics, but he's about the only one left that seems like a real person.

Sorry, but I don't get that from this or anything else I've ever seen or heard from him.

Unfortunately for him, the typical American voter will punish him for that.

If you ever meet VP Biden in person, you instantly know that he doesn't have political version of himself and a "real" version. What you see is what you get. He has taken more hits in life than most of us have.

That being said, I don't want him in the White House.
