ACC Network launching in August of 2016 rumor?
Greg Flugaur, @flugempire, twitted this out today from his Big Ten Man BTM:

1) ACCN announcement before end of 2015 football season
2) Launch for August
3) Shorter run-up btwn announcement-launch than SECN
4) possible different camera angle viewing options
5) Permanent TV video structure at each ACC school

He seems a little questionable about the August launch date.

That coupled with news that AT&T with it's acquisition of Direct TV is thinking about getting a 50 percent-ish share of the PAC-12 Network before distributing it could lead to some crazy realignment rumors later.

RE: ACC Network launching in August of 2016 rumor?
How does ESPN fill out its broadcast schedule with FOX likely taking some B1G inventory and both the SEC and ACC networks taking even more inventory? Wouldn't expansion be the key? -whether through ACC expansion or even Big 12 expansion where ESPN gets more Big 12 rights...

Or, does ESPN elevate some AAC, MWC, and BYU games into slots previously taken by B1G and ACC matchups?

Yeah, I think it is probably all of those. Also, possibly the PAC gets some better time slots for their games as well.

There are a few games here and there that are relegated to ESPN News and Classic that may get bumped up. I don't think there are many that watch those networks anyway.

RE: ACC Network launching in August of 2016 rumor?
The question here is does an ACC Network actually make that conference more attractive for potential targets including Big 12 schools fleeing the ship?

Is it possible that Kansas could go along with Texas to the ACC? If Notre Dame keeps stalling then I can see the ACC preferring that combo.

I lean towards OU and OSU ending up in the SEC during this phase.

Texas Tech, TCU, Kansas State, and Iowa State to the PAC?

That's enough to break the GOR right there. Does Texas go along with that? Does the SEC take schools like WVU and ECU to add new markets being that any ACC would likely be off limits forever?

ND is not "stalling" the ACC.

ND has been quite clear that football will never be included.

See John Swofford's comments on this issue.

Stalling in that they are likely putting off what is inevitable.

If ND can make the playoff without a conference championship then I'm wrong, but if not then their choice will be made for them.

The same. And I have not seen anything about buying back the T3 they have sold to other media outlets like FOX and Raycom. For it to happen soon I think they would basically have to buy out Raycom and turn it into the ACCN. Raycom is only surviving right now because of the ACC content they have. It's why Swofford wrote them into the contract with ESPN to take care of his son who was working there. Doubt they give any of it up without being bought up. Are there rumors anywhere about buying Raycom?

Two things:
1)It's not wise to believe everything that you have read on the internet.
2)The ACC and Raycom/Jefferson-Pilot/C.D. Chesley have had a long and intertwined business relationship that has existed for about 50 years. I can't speak for the business practices of other conferences, but I can tell you that loyalty runs really deep in the ACC.

One thing:
The loyalty in the ACC may run deep, but deep in what?

Regardless of why, it has to be pretty unusual to write in who the primary network will sell a portion of it's unwanted content too. I am sure Swofford's (and the ACC's) loyalty to Raycom was "enhanced" by his son working for them as well.

ACC Network launching in August of 2016 rumor?
The four-letter network could sublicense MAC, Sun Belt, etc. games to Raycom and turn it into a competitor to Sinclair's ASN syndication package, which has games from C-USA, the SoCon, and now some games from the AAC.
