Very dumb question...
So the announcers at the LA Tech v WKU game are in a studio somewhere? Is that common or only for G-5s? Someone commented that if they are in studio, the crowd sond is muffled, but the MU game sounded great. We're the announcers in the pressbow for that game? I know, newb question, but I'm very curious.

RE: Very dumb question...
I've seen times where ESPN has done play by play from the studio for basketball games before. NBC has done it for the Olympics as well (since the Olympics has an international video feed they can utilize). I can't recall it being done for a nationally broadcast football game before.

Petros is already on site. They just needed to send a play by play guy and get a spotter. I really don't understand their reasoning for doing this.

ESPN has done it for a few basketball games on the U and ESPNEWS. Don't think it's ever been done on ESPN or FS1 before.

I didn't think it made a difference. I'm sure it's part of the budget cuts they announced earlier in the year.
