Yeah...that is a rough start. Their defending champ didn't score a point this past weekend.

Score a few more wins again the "Power 5" and sustain our success against the rest of the "G5" and we could make the jump from 2nd to 1st this season.

Didn't expect our league's addition by subtraction to be evident so quickly but BB's plan of what teams to target in realignment seems to be working right out of the gate.

I think not playing MWC teams has hurt us. We are just as competitive as them and need more OOC games with them to prove it.

Well UTSA plays Colorado State this year.. I think in three weeks. So lets hope UTSA and CUSA can get the W.

Agreed. Our AD said he has been in touch with the top MWC and AAC schools for OOC games. The thinking being, if we knock of their top teams it will be an Access Bowl play-in game of sorts. One of our local reporters said there are rumors of a deal with USF and/or Houston in the works.

I wish like hell we had SMU, UH, Fresno and Nevada on our schedules the next couple of years. Beating MAC and Sunbelt teams aren't going to push us past the MWC.

There was a week last season where the entire conference didn't win a game. At least this week they had some FCS schools on the schedule so it couldn't happen again.

FWIW ... we have beaten Air Force and Fresno St in bowl games within the past three seasons.

It would be nice to have aa 1-1 with Boise State. It would be even nicer to knock them off the pedestal.

Rice beat Fresno worse than Boise did in two tries.

That should be a good matchup. Hopefully UTSA can take care of them. I think Rice has a good chance against Texas this week as well.

I think we have been scheduling solid games but I never see SMU or UH coming back to Ruston.
