It's a hybrid. A cross between Kentucky bluegrass, featherbed bent, and northern California sinsemilla. The amazing stuff about this is that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt at night on this stuff.

Pool and a pond. Pond would be good for you

Tommy West was the one who pushed for it. When they had natural turf, they had astroturf on the sidelines.

He said it created a dangerous situation when players were pushed out of bounds and hit the seam where the natural grass ended and the astroturf began.

That was an odd situation. I'm surprised they let it go like that for so long. As much as you try to make the transition seamless, there was always going to be a difference. As far as I can recall, that was the only FB field in the country that had a natural grass playing field surrounded by an artificial turf sideline.

So your saying ole miss field turf installed also? Why did they do it? The same as 90% of stadiums. Everybody had it put in. The wear and tear of six to ten games a year was too much.

I seem to remember someone had sprayed something on Ole Miss' field that ruined a great portion of the grass. I don't know if that was the main reason they went to turf some years ago.

Ole Miss is going back to natural turf for next season.

There were a lot of coaches expressing concerns such as possible injuries due to the artificial turf sidelines surrounding the natural grass playing field

I heard years ago that we had one of the fastest hybrid grass fields in the country. Kind of a shame we gave that up.
