RE: AP Poll
I was hoping Temple would be a bit higher after a good win, maybe #27-28

Whoever wins next week UC/Temple should be break into the top 25

Sort of perplexing WKU gets points for beating an awful Vandy team

RE: AP Poll
AAC needs some teams to pull upsets this week to get more teams receiving votes or in the polls.

Doubt it. They may get 15-20 votes and place 27-28th, but it's harder for G5 teams to move up.

bull**** system carrying over from last year. Boise gets in the drivers seat before doing anything.

Sucks for the loser of Temple/Cincy. They get bumped out of the picture.

That may be wishful thinking since the BYU Heisman hopeful QB is out for the season.

Surprised Marshall got little to no respect following last years final poll ranking. They beat Purdue who was looking for their first OOC road win since 2007 vs Toledo but it was a P5 win so you think they would get a few votes. My guess is even the pollsters look at the B1G other than Ohio St being awful so WKU beating a SEC bottom feeder like Vanderbilt on the road is more impressive than Marshall beating Purdue at home.

I think Boise St might very well lose at BYU next week and could even trip up on the road vs UVA. I don't think this is a year where they run the table so if they lose 1-2 games it will once again be a toss up to which G5 school gets the Access Bowl game which I hope is an AAC team. Things could get interesting if Temple beats Cincinnati. They would have a great shot at being 7-0 and ranked going into their showdown with Notre Dame. The Irish should still be ranked at the time even if they lose to GT or Clemson before that game. If Temple beats Notre Dame to move to 8-0 then they will be the team that everybody is talking about for the Access Bowl which would be quite a shock based on their history but a cool story.

That's my first thought, as well, but the new guy did well in his limited exposure @Nebraska.

The new guy was a co-MVP for Elite 11 QB camp alongside Jameis Winston. He's also like 25 years old.

It isn't like they're eating much (or all that healthy) or working out while on their mission. Once they're done, they have a lot of work to do in order to get back into football shape & regain muscle mass. I actually think it is more of a player disadvantage than advantage - other than mental & emotional maturity.

Agreed.

Heck, despite losses from teams above it and a 52-10 win, UC actually dropped two places from last week.

I think we actually LOST a vote (didn't we have 8 last week?) because we won handily...

Oh well. The only poll that counts for anything is the final one and all you can do is keep on winning and let it all come out in the wash.

This is a key part of the storied Army teams right after WWII. West Point was flooded with 22+ year old guys who had served in the war and came in with a whole world of maturity and physical development. I am not sure that Army will ever experience something like that again.

Family members who converted to LDS & went to BYU & served their mission.

They spend most of their time going around on bicycles or walking with very little money for food as they try to talk to as many people as will listen to them. Very little time for football worthy working out. It isn't like they completely starve, but when they do get to eat it isn't a huge meal like most Div I football players need to maintain mass.

BYU isn't sending their players to some secret redshirt workaround camp to work on football.
